Default Blu-Ray Movie player software for Linux?

My Sony Vaio Laptop has a Blu-Ray drive and I just watched the movie "300", but in Windows Vista which came preinstalled. I just installed Linux and was wondering if there were any softwares available for playing movies in Linux or if there are expected to be any in the future?

I read something about DRM that Vista uses which is needed for playing Blu-Ray but I'm not too sure about this. There're far too many rumors and incorrect information about Blu-Ray so I decided to ask here, to people who already have experience.

forget it wine's emplementations of direct x is not very good.

Wine Is Not an Emulator, it's actualy a compatibiltiy layer for linux, thus your Processor speed is not compromised. While most productivity programs and some older games like Diablo II will play flawlessly, any game that uses direct x 8 or higher or any HD video decoded by direct show will not run well on wine as wine must convert direct x api s to open gl on the fly.

If all those people using linux on their PS3 can watch HD, then you can watch HD.

mplayer codecs for linux is the sole basis for fddshow filters in windows. If you want to watch HD in linux, try Mplayer, however It may not play blu-ray disc directly you may need to rip the show to Mp4s first.
