Default Please help with this simple question?

I have a ps3 hooked up to a 61 in. Samsung 1080p DLP with a bose 321 surround sound system. Being that I can only afford to purchase a home theatre system in a box, which would be the best one to purchase?

What is your max budget. HT's can run anywhere from $200-$2,000. Obviously you are going to want one with HDMI sound and video passthrough.

Best Buy sells a Klipsch package that is the Quintet system with a Yamaha receiver. Not too sure what the receiver is capable of (I don't think it's got HDMI) but you can upgrade it . . . the Harman Kardon 147 or 247 would be pretty good with that set. I want to say the whole deal is like 899.

I think you can do better than the Klipsch and the Klipsch is a acquired taste since they are really "bright" sounding.

You may want to look into these, I've had Mission speakers in the past and they are a top notch speaker company.

You could match those with the Onkyo 605 receiver for around $400 and get this for the sub....

I think that would be a great bang for your buck system and honestly would probably best the Klipsch set-up.

Just another suggestion to think about. Either way, happy speaker hunting.

Try this one out. It may be a little over your budget, but you may find it cheaper at other places. It has HDMI video and audio passthrough. You can always upgrade the speaker system at a later time. But you always want to start off with a decent receiver.

I shouldn't advise on this because I haven't been researching receivers and HTIB's, but I do have a preference for Yamaha receivers when I hear them in stores. So far, Onkyo seems to have a very good reputation, but for some reason, I really do tend to like the sound coming from Yamaha. It's personal preference to me. If I ever get another receiver, it'll surely be Yamaha. No doubt.
