![]() I also use SmoothVideo Project's 60Hz software interpolation which didn't make much difference when I used MPC. But with MPV the increase in 3D picture clarity delivers on James Cameron's HFR promise. I feel I'm no longer watching events unfold on a screen, but instead I'm looking at them through an open window. I can't wait to watch Avatar 2 in 3D HFR ![]() Last edited by cdx47; 05-03-2023 at 09:31 PM. |

For anyone who is interested (probably just me) the Virtual Desktop developer has released a Beta version which enables 10 bit HEVC encoding (also 400Mb/s h264 encoding if you have a Quest 2). This improves picture quality is by significantly reducing banding and with each improvement in picture quality, there is a noticeable improvement in 3D layering for movies with weaker 3D.

Apple just announced Vision PRO VR/AR googles, with 3D movie support:
11:39 am "There is no other device in the world that can deliver this quality of 3D movie experience." 11:38 am You can watch it on an airplane. 3D movies have depth and motion. ![]() |

Every time I assume that I have achieved the best picture possible (with the equipment I have) I turn out to be wrong. For anyone using VR with an Nvidia card I would recommend enabling Nvidia DSR.
For those who are interested (again probably just me) I have been using Catmull-Rom in combination with an unsharp filter. But with DSR I no longer need the filter. |

Is DSR related to Nvidia's realtime AI upscale? |

It does FOV but there is a 3rd party tool on my PC to turn it off. I don't always remember to turn it off because the default setting for my device is OK. As for DSR, it looks like it's basically an advanced form of the Super Sampling tech used in VR.

Hello, want to introduce myself and talk about Bigscreen VR.
My background as a PC Gamer, from CRT's to LED to 3D Nvidia Monitors now days OLED Ultra Wide. Plus I've still have 3D TV's in the house and under (75) 3D Blu-ray's. Well of course I jumped on VR with Rift CV1, Rift S, HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro, Valve Index and my last one Quest 2. So about 2 years back I finally tried Bigscreen VR. I was "WOW" how good and comfortable it was to watch movies in the Theater Environments. I found my way to the 3D Films that BS has for rent by Paramount. I'm like, Hell I got those 3D Blu-rays I've not watched in years! So I've taught myself how to make Digital Rips of my 3D into HSBS then FSBS. I learned about PC Plex Home Server was an easy way to watch my 3D on the internal Bigscreen Player by myself. Then I got the itch to become a PC Desktop Streamer on Bigscreen and run a Public Room just for 3D Movies. So over time using HW I had already and some trial and error along with talking to other Bigscreen Streamers. I love to Host 3D Movies and do it nearly daily and on Weekends. My Collection has grown to over 500+ 3D Movies (ton of Auto Conversions). I even have been doing my own 2D-3D Converts with paid AI Software approx 150 Titles. Best part is I do all this with no VR Headset connected to the PC known as "Headless". I do however join my own Stream Room with Quest 2 to watch and Moderate my Bigscreen Room. If anyone else here is interested in Streaming Movies on Bigscreen Contact me. I would love to partner up with some folks! ![]() Last edited by Tricks-OR-Treats; 09-03-2023 at 03:43 PM. |

Bigscreen VR and Streaming 3-D Anaglyph, YUP I've Done it!
I have a love for 3-D Anaglyph also. Bigscreen doesn't support it like say SkyBox does. So in my experiments I just put the cardboard glasses over my VR Lens. Streamed with Plex DLNA (personal viewing) or VLC Player (User Public Room) Totally Cheesy but works! ![]() ![]() Last edited by Tricks-OR-Treats; 09-03-2023 at 04:01 PM. |

![]() I have a large Steam library but I've never really played any of the games. Apparently this is very common ![]() I've used Bigscreen and it has improved A LOT! But I would hate to have to sign in to BS all the time to watch a movie. Plus I always want the absolute best sound and picture quality possible hence moving from mpc-be to mpv. My PC is connected to my AV receiver which is connected to my Sub, mini-dsp and transducer. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is in reality ![]() |

MakeMVK of the 3D Blu-ray (framed packed) .mkv file which are huge 32GB on average. I can view both 2D and 3D as is with players. 2D I use Plex Media Player (across my home network not 3D Ready) or VLC Player on PC Monitors. 3D I use Potplayer 64 bit with ENABLE H.264 MVC 3D Decoder. Potplayer does the SBS for me! Since Bigscreen VR is stereo I don't do anything extra on the PC Audio for those streams. Last edited by Tricks-OR-Treats; 09-03-2023 at 06:38 PM. |

There is another VR Product I use with Bigscreen VR. I call it the 4th Dimension in 3D Movie Watching a Haptics Wireless Vest!
With a 3.5 mm Y-Jack plugged into the Quest 2 Audio Jack. Run one to the bHaptic Tactsuit connect the other to say either a pair of wired Ear Buds or Wired Headphones. The Vest is Bluetooth so I open my Mobile App by bHaptic and the Audio will be filtered by A-T-H (audio-to-haptic) customizable audio profile. I made just for certain 3D Movies I watch in Bigscreen VR. ![]() Here's a the list of 3D Movies I made A-T-H for (Quest 2) they are all Public on the Mobile App for anyone to Alter or Use as is. If your a PCVR user there is the PC bHaptic Studio Software. We are allowed to upload our PCVR Profiles of A-T-H on the Official Discord. Most people don't use the bHaptic Vest in Bigscreen VR or for Watching Movies. I just like to dabble in all things VR ![]() |

![]() I do something similar with a mini-dsp for Bass EQ ( aka “BEQ”) which alters the ULF/LFE EQ of the many movies that have had their lower frequencies severely filtered. The mini-dsp can be connected to a sub(s), hover-boss platform or tactile bass transducers, aka chair shakers. Mine is connected to a ButKicker mini. There's an on-line library of literally hundreds of movies and TV shows that have already been added to the BEQ database. More info here: Bass EQ for Filtered Movies 3D+Atmos(DTS:x)+BEQ = 4DVR ![]() Last edited by cdx47; 09-03-2023 at 10:09 PM. |
