very tempting if you are in the market for one.

C's are even lower..
1349 for a 55
1899 for a 65
today is the last day on Dell's website for this price. Plus they're throwing in a $200 gift card with the 55in and a $300 gift card for the 65in. B model

Not sure where you are seeing those prices on Dell's website unless they already have pulled the listings from their site.

The $1899.99 price for the 65" is the B7 model (2017 version). The posting made by Punisher may have meant the B7 units at those prices he listed, but his posting made it sound like the C8 models were at that price point. The C8 just came out less than two months ago at $2499.99 for the 55" model so finding the 55" C8 for $1349.99 with a $200 gift card would have been a major steal. But it will eventually hit that price point more than likely late this year.

ohhhh. The other guy I had quoted was talking about the C model. I was mentioning B7. I think the only difference is the stand, right?

No, better processor and a few other changes. I will probably wait for the C8 late this year, my 10-year old Panasonic Plasma still is doing quite strong with no issues, and with a pending move planned I think it may be better for me to wait to buy a 4K television until I buy a new house. But if the C8 was $1349 that would have been tempting but I suspect in November it will hit that price point, but then I may even wait until CES 2019 and see what is due out for 2019. Part of me if hoping Panasonic returns to the USA with their OLED sets since they are coming out with new 4K Blu-ray players this summer/fall, if they don't return I will give LG a try.

I got a Panny St50. Would love to keep it longer, but it gets the room (10x12) hot when its on for 4+ hours. I don't know how warm these OLEDs get though

I would say much less than our Plasma's for certain. I opted for the 46" plasma, 50" for my current place was too big, 42" was too small, so 46" was just right. Next house I am looking at 55", as I think 65" would be too big.

I bought a 55" B7 a few days ago for $1499. Went back today when I saw it for $1263 on Amazon. They wouldn't honor that and when I said I was bringing the TV back, they found it at Dell for 1299 which they refunded me the difference.

I do have a question about the OLED Light. It's set up in our bedroom and it's a dark room. I tried it at rtings.com's recommended settings and didn't like it. I turned it up to 85 which was okay, but then watching TLJ, it felt too light so I put it at 40. Then I read that some people have theirs at 100. I actually like the 40. Is that too low for a dark room?

you're correct :: essentially the same (picture quality)
processor? :: identical
primarily :: stand and frame (possibly one audio support difference - C7 of Dolby Atmos, but it's unclear at the moment)
note :: all of the 2017 OLED's had 'exactly the same' (processor and picture quality) - (audio support and cosmetics differentiated them)
:: 2018 OLED's are more inconsistent; as (for example) the B8 has the Alpha 7 processor and the C8 has the Alpha 9 processor (etc)

Plasma TV would never work down here because of how much heat it generates after a few hours

I am in the market for an OLED, I have read great things about LG OLED. I am a heavy gamer and would like something that is good for that. And Obviously, I love my movies. I want to take advantage of 4K HDR. I currently have a 55 inch. Id like to go to 65in. What are some options for me?

Surprised at how good hockey game and tennis is so far with motion off. Keeping it on in user mode for 4K disc with judder and de blurr at 6.....

So I bought a 55” B7 about a month ago. I have an Oppo 203 hooked up.
On certain 4K discs I’ve watched (Wonder Woman, War for the Planet of the Apes), I notice white flashing in the black bars.
All firmware has been updated.

Anyone have any ideas for a fix? Or do I have a bad panel?
Is it related to specific discs?

I’ve tried looking around a little bit for answers, but only seem to run into discussion of this happening mostly on 2016 models.

Thanks for any advice!

question :: any possibility of a friend with another player (UHD) that you can use (briefly) for testing; that's where i would begin?

display settings? :: also, i would carefully review my settings (possibility of any specific/collective settings at the extremes of their respective intended performance that might just cause this issue)

discs? :: unlikely
panel? :: unlikely

player? :: have you already tried rebooting (disconnecting from power) and simply restarting? :: i realize these are basic/intuitive approaches, but each requires review before erroneous conclusions

Ive had this exact problem with an Oppo 203 into a 2016 Lg G6 when watching Dolby Vision discs ( eg. Gladiator ) though I too thought it had been fixed on 2017 tvs . Im very disappointed that Lg have not released any firmware since July 2017 for this set when it was less than a year old . Manufacturers have to stand over their products for more than a year especially at this price point .

All we can do is keep writing to Lg for an update ...

there is an update from LG's Korean site, actually a few this year. it ends in .90 and you can find it on the AVSforum.com. I installed it via a usb thumb drive. No issues.....

The C7 I purchased for 1219 last Sunday has jumped to 1996 now. Snooze, you lose...

Wow, those OLED prices have come down a lot. This video summarizes how I feel as an early adopter.
