lets see, my guesses...

Wii fad will begin to die by fall.
360 will Still do well with a fall release of gears of war 2.
PS3 will begin it's reign with AAA exclusives, although it still wont catch the 360 overall.
Blu will still dominate hd dvd, but hd dvd will still sucker people their way for yet another year.
One of the studios will go multiformat or go exclusive (most likely Blu)

I agree with all but must add one adendum. In Michael's case, I beleive we need to use the term "Spokes Person" instead. At least until we can the sexual identity thing starightened out.

LOL.
One little thing though: what do you think processors are made of? Millions of transistors on a same silicon. We are still very much in a transistor era... till quantum computing comes.

My 2008 predictions:

1. MS will announce it's HDDL-ready XBOX Tera specs. All games/movies
will be DL only on their new XBOX Live Ultra format at 29.99 a month...
with the exception being the built-in DVD/Blu-ray capability. Games WILL
be available on Blu-ray100s, but will cost 40% more than DL and suffer
the back-end of their "timed-release exclusive" equivalents.

2. Wii software sales will start to cripple the lifespan of the system...
A. Casual gamers will not have the attach rates of the PS2/3 or
XBOX 360.

3. PS3 sales will take a tremendous upswing based on 3 criteria:
A. The quad-threat exclusive releases of: KZ2, LBP, HOME and MGS4,
thus increasing console sales. Cross-platformers start with the PS3.
B. The average consumer's perception that Blu-ray has won, thus
increasing Blu-ray disc player sales.
C. HD TVs will become more affordable, thus justifying Blu-ray.

4. XBOX360 users will begin to abandon the system based on its
failure rates and storage limitations.

5. The percentage of US homes with HDTVs will increase by 10+% over
year previous.

These on the picture are still in production (www.onsemi.com) for example. They are used on high reliability equipment...and yes - extreme environment computers is one of the examples.
Vacuum tubes are in use on some hi-end pre-amplifiers and amplifiers, especially in audio.

5. Roomba vacuum robots will become self aware and declare war on our pets.
4. Anti-DRM zealots will have the epiphany that in supporting HD-DVD they are boycotting Sony, but supporting Microsoft (who is worse).
3. A bunch of monkeys high on paint thinner and grape cool-ade code a better product than Microsoft IIS.
2. David Letterman replaces Paul Schafer with a charasmatic Roomba vacuum robot. Ratings go through the roof.
1. Al Gore claims that he invented HD-DVD.
