No problem whatsoever! I meant that the link you have provided should go in the master Blu-ray case sticky, that's all. I was complimenting your find.

Yet another solid lead for Blu-ray cases. These should be in the master sticky thread, too...or maybe this is the definitive thread now.

Do they still have the painted silver logo on them or are they now shipping the newer version with the silver foil logo?

Are these the new silver logo cases that Fox, Warner using? Or are they the Disney and Sony with the embossed silver blu-ray logo?

Diskmakers.com sells the Elite cases which are the same ones that Fox and Warner use. A while back they were still selling the ones with the painted logo.

The cases that he has above from discamkers are NOT the Elite cases, but they are clones. They must have changed distributors or something. I ordered 50 of them and are disappointed. These are the same cases you can get off ebay, not the real Elite ones. I am actually trying to sell some of them if someone is interested.

Interesting ... when did you place your order? I must have ordered no more than a month or two ago and they were the Elite cases. However, its good to know that this is not longer the case.

There have been at least two variants of the 12.5mm Viva Elite case used in the U.S. market, or three if you count the Viva Eco-Box in its single- and double-disc incarnations (The Silence of the Lambs and Taken, respectively). All Viva Elite cases have "VIVA" molded in raised lettering on the inside of the spine, "ELITE" molded in raised lettering on the disc tray, four inward-pointing arrows (which are vulnerable to breakage) on the disc hub button, and the tops and bottoms of the spine taper to points (which also makes these areas prone to breaking). The older Elites have a whitish pad-printed Blu-ray Disc logo and symbol, which can be pulled off if a standard, "full" DVD type of retail title label has been placed at the top of the case, rather than the "indented" Blu-ray retail label that goes around the logo. The newer Elites simulate an embossing that gives the impression of the case having been stamped, leaving a sunken, silver foil stamp BD logo and symbol. This embossing is NOT to be confused with the "embossed" logo and symbol used on the 11mm MeadWestvaco Vortex cases (Sony and Disney releases), their 11mm Nexpak PremierPak replacements, or 14mm AGI Amaray cases, where the molding resembles raised lettering.

There are at least two styles of generic 12.5mm cases available as singles and doubles. I don't know who manufactures them, or at least who distributes them. If you look at the top or bottom of the disc tray on a Viva Elite, you will see six ribs, along with three ribs running along the right side:

12.5mm generic single- and double-disc cases available from Octave.com (http://www.octave.com/_-Disc+Packagi...Ray+Cases.html), for example, also have six ribs, in a different pattern, at the top or bottom of the disc tray. There are also six ribs on the right edge, and obviously, the disc hub button is different. Also, the top and bottom of the spine are squared-off:

Alternatively, 12.5mm generic single- and double-disc cases available from Polylinecorp.com (http://www.polylinecorp.com/Blu-ray-cases.asp), for example, only have four ribs at the top or bottom of the disc tray, with NO ribs along the side, and obviously, another type of button on the disc hub. Furthermore, the top and bottom of the spine are rounded:

Discmakers.com was definitely selling the older Viva Elites with the whitish, pad-printed logo, earlier this year. If they've run out of stock on genuine Viva Elites, and are substituting generic cases, then there are other sources for buying the types of cases that I've described as being at Octave or Polyline.

Discmakers has the 6 rib clones, exactly like the ones octave has. The cases look good, but once you pick them up, they are flimsy and have no structure. I received my order 2 weeks ago. They had been on backorder, and I was expecting another batch of Elites, but got screwed in the process.

I know others have posted about Sleeve City (Town), but this place is great. I finally ordered some replacement cases and they are great. At first glance you cannot tell the difference between these cases and the ones that Disney uses.

http://www.sleevetown.com/blu-ray-hd-dvd-case.shtml

I wanted to replace Elite with Elite and Disney with Disney, but if you are only OCD to the point where you don't want cracks or breaks then these cases are awesome. I found some cases at Fry's and they were garbage, which is why I tried Sleeve City (Town). The Fry's cases were flimsy and the shade of blue seemed to be a little off. Not to mention there was NO Blu-ray logo on the case.

Anyway, just my two cents...

I just received 25 cases from Discmakers and I am quite pissed that they are the clones. They are flimsy, the square spine sucks, the disc hub sucks, and the clear plastic that holds the artwork is wavy and warped and doesn't lay flat against the blue plastic on over half of them. And they call them "Premium". I want my money back. If I had wanted this type of case, I would have just bought them on eBay. We'll see what happens, and if their customer service is any good. If they want to sell this kind of case then that's fine, but they should change the picture on the product page so people don't think they are getting the Elites when they really aren't.
