Aygie, I don't think anyone on here who recommends Red have even seen one and I don't think they're experienced in production. For a lot of them, it's all about the technical specs on paper. You are right, the Red is a totally different market. I think of it as a digital cinema replacement for the Super 16 or something. The EX1, EX3, HVX200 is professional digital HD video. It will also do Digital Cinema with the 24p, but it's aimed at video production markets. I think they're going to be a lot more flexible.
The people who drop the link to the Red One website everytime someone wants info on CAMCORDERS, are the same people who recommend a Nikon D2X DSLR when someone asks people to recommend a nice simple snapshot camera. I am amazed nobody has recommended a Panavision Genesis! |
