After dealing with a missing item from the Gundam Wing set I ordered, I'm actually glad for the insurance.
This way, if it gets broken, lost, stolen or not everything is in it, it'll get replaced with no hassle!

That and taking my money without shipping items is why I decided to never shop with them again.

With RughtStuf, they had me do incident and police reports because THEY FORGOT to put one of the volumes in the box and used extra paper padding in its place. Eventually, they sent it to me after weeks and tons of pictures of the box, padding, how it was packed, faxes of the reports. It was a hassle!

All you'd have to do is ask for a replacement from Amazon. Tell a rep it was missing an item and you'd have it next day.

Before I get rid of my Platinum DVDs and my Death & Rebirth/End of Eva DVDs is there anything that's going to be missing in the collector's edition?

The OA versions of Episodes 21-24, Fly Me to the Moon, and the video extras made by ADV Films and Manga Entertainment. Note: The 2005 6-disc Platinum thinpak has no video extras.

I actually enjoyed what I’ve listened to of the Death/Rebirth and End of Eva commentaries.

No, you won’t get much insight into the films themselves, but they’re fun to listen to, especially if you’re interested in the dub. The ADV ones for the TV episodes are better though. I also like the one FUNi did for 2.22 (with Mike McFarland and rotating guests).

My set is out for delivery as we speak. Been waiting a long time to rewatch this series as it's my personal favorite anime of all time. My Blu-ray anime collection has always felt empty without it.

How different are the OA from whatever's going to be in this set?

Still skimming through them all, but episode 16 seems to be SD and the quality drops compared to everything. I'm not sure if that's intentional and if anyone knows what's up with that?
