i would not pay for any service like this from either CC or BB. I would seek out an independent ISF calibrator in your area/surrounding area. Sure you will pay more but you will get the job done correctly. When i have asked BB And CC employees to show me that they have been properly trained and accredited in the field of ISF calibration, nobody has been able to prove it! Do not waste your money on the calibration service offered by Circuit City or Best Buy

AGREED. You're better off calibrating it yourself with DVE: HD basics over BB or CC. Of course, professional ISF calibration is the best. They can be expensive and hard to find, but do some research if you're serious - it'll be worth it.

In all fairness thats because the sales guys are not accredited, thats why its not them doing the calibration.

figured i would chime in here. i am a salesman for cc, and used to work at bby. if someone comes into my store and is looking at a television, i offer them a calibration. i have it done to my tv, and made my mom get it done on both of her tv's. now in terms of ISF certification, im not sure if our installers are. i know our guy had to go to cleveland for about 4 days, and does have a certificate saying that he is certified to do calibrations, but im not sure who has certified him. i can honestly say though, that i got ahold of DVE, and ran it at my mom's house and none of the settings differed between the dvd itself and what our firedog installer did. so, i don't know if you would call what we at big box stores do "professional" since we don't focus on home theater installs and home wiring exclusively, but it does offer a benefit to a customer. yes it helps, as every poster on this forum will agree on. if you want us to do it, great. if you want to buy a dvd to do it, great. if you want to pay an isf professional to come in and do it, thats great to. just do it in some capacity so you can start enjoying your tv the right way, for a much longer time.
