And I just picked up a new MRX 1140. My first Anthem product, so I am excited about getting it integrated into my system.

When running arc the default used to be 5000hz. I believe with arc genesis 2 they lowered it to 500 hz? That is where I had the best room correction in my old theater.
My Anthem Mrx 720 has unfortunately been in the box for the last 3 years because of selling, buying homes and having to finish a basement. Nonetheless Anthem arc is amazing. So is pbk/arc on Paradigm and Martin Logan subwoofers. I would not buy a sub without its own correction software. Just amazing. |

I switch between -14 for music to -11 for movies on the fly from my phone. I like not having to go into the menu in the AVR to make adjustments. As for the new AVRs, I’d like to get the 540, but think that the 740 should be considered in case I move sometime and can utilize the extra channels. |

Their announcement last November said they will offer an upgrade to HDMI 2.1 for those early purchasers. I have to believe when the hardware is ready and available in sufficient quantities, the product will be produced with HDMI 2.1 integrated. I am guessing it will be December, 2021 before that is a reality.

‘Board” that will add 2.1 HDMI and that does not include labor. Makes me wonder is it worth buying now? Thoughts |

I can only speak for myself. All I needed that was missing from my prior receiver was earc and atmos. I waited for 2 years after buying my A9f for Anthem to add earc. I have better things to do with my time than gaming. WHEN I want an 8K TV, MAYBE there will be 8K disc medium and an 8K player. If that happens, any 8K TV will have HDMI 2.1 ports that I can connect a player to using earc back to the receiver for audio. It will take several years for HDMI 2.1 to become stable when mixing brands together. (eg: LG TV with Anthem AV with MS xbox. Although I'm confident that Sony will probably have good compatibility if you cobble together a Sony TV with a Sony receiver with a Sony PS5 or some other Sony 5k player.)
The Anthem will serve my needs for a long time into the future so I decided not to wait. YMMV. |
