If there's a showdown, it's likely a battle of wits...they may not even be remotely near each other or even on the same planet, Vader just thwarted by Obi-Wan out-thinking him to protect Luke or someone else. Hayden in flashbacks, I guess also in the suit. Who knows, might see McDiarmid, too. I don't think Obi-Wan is going toe-to-toe in a physical battle with him. "When I left you, I was but a learner..." etc. Tarkin confident Kenobi's dead, etc. We'll see.

Super cool that Christensen is returning as Vader. Makes me that much more excited for this show. Still keeping my expectations tempered though.

I mean the easiest answer to the question, how did Obi-Wan know that Vader is Anakin? I think they did something about him in Legends that he put 2 and 2 together through news report. But, seeing Anakin as Vader for the first time will be such a heartbreaking/thrilling image that they would get to portray.

If memory serves, Palpatine names Anakin Vader in the security recording that Obi-Wan sees, shortly after the Jedi Purge. Yoda also says Anakin has been "consumed by Darth Vader".

I prefer the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan vs Maul fight but Anakin vs Obi-Wan was good as well...I think the lava hampered the fight and it didn't feel as epic as it should have been for a trilogy ending duel

maybe Vader can create a new suit for a rematch

Them fighting though...doesn’t make sense unless there is some sort of twist. But will probably be amazing to see.
The twist might be that's not a physical fight with them face-to-face but some sort of mental fight using the Force. That would also be an opportunity for Vader to appear uninjured as Anakin rather than in the suit.

Look at the way Luke used the Force to "project" himself in The Last Jedi - if two Jedi could do that could they engage in battle with each other?

It's easily my second favorite Star Wars movie of all time, right behind Empire Strikes Back.

I guess it's been too long since I watched Sith. Hopefully, the first time Obi-Wan sees Anakin in the suit will still be an amazing scene.

I am a bit curious, how and where, Vader meets up with Obi-Wan because I doubt Obi-Wan ever wants to leave Tatooine because he wants to watch over Luke and you would think that Obi-Wan would never allow or give a clue on where he's hiding.

I think I may be there with you. With all respect to the original Star Wars movie (A New Hope), I always seem to gravitate towards Empire Strikes Back or Revenge of the Sith when I want a quick Star Wars fix without having to watch all of them.

That's fabulously optimistic. I'm sure they will meet in a retcon. Disney can't help it.

Gotcha. I missed the part where they said a rematch was in the works. Not sure how I feel about that, but I'm sure they can make it work with the right people penning the scripts.

We need more Vader in his prime mowing people down. Like Rogue One on a grander scale.

A well written scene where Vader asks Obi-Wan why he left him to burn alive, instead of killing him could add alot of gravity to the saga. Anakin is in the suit because he lived long enough for Palpatine to find him.
