Mine has done that from day 1. If all else is working fine it's no problem.

They've still not fixed their broken ARC implemenation. I doubt they ever will. Why bother when the newer ones have eARC?

My C7, which is on 05.80.35, is still having the delayed brightness increase issues. Is this ever going to be fixed? It’s been like this for MONTHS now.

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, when a scene changes from night to day, the brightness is delayed by half a second or so and then ‘clicks’ up to the proper brightness. It’s very noticeable and very annoying.

I talked to LG last week and all they said was have to wait for a new FW
You could downgrade your FW

Probably not

Do you have problems with it on SDR or HDR, DV?
For me, it is only on HDR

Iíve noticed the brightness delay on both HDR and DV. Not on SDR.

I've kind of noticed it on Netflix on titles that use DV.

For those of you with the brightness delay, have you tried turning Dynamic Tone Mapping off for HDR content?

I think the best bet is to downgrade the FW, just google it

Still trying to figure out what's breaking ARC for me. It did work until one of the B8 updates irrecoverably broke it.

I have a Humax FVP4000-T in my setup, and I read this also has a very flawed CEC use that has many users frustrated. Couple this with LG's own flawed implementation and could this be breaking the whole ARC and CEC chain? Because both ARC and CEC are broken for me. I've gone to using optical between the TV and my Denon but would it be worth trying a CEC-stripper between the Humax and the Denon?

In addition, it's even breaking optical. What is happening is I set the TV manually to optical only. Then when I turn it back on the next day, the TV's internal speakers are back on as well as optical. I saw it happening last night as I was watching TV into the early hours, the Humax turned on to do it's update shenanigans and the TV's internal volume display popped up unwanted over what I was watching despite my watching a disc with audio through the Denon.

Maddening.

I think I'm becoming more forgiving of LG since I think Humax is the main culprit. I know it worked until a firmware update to my B8, but I'm wondering just how much blame is really due to LG. CEC is turned off in the Humax but that doesn't stop it doing tricks like this. I used to like Humax boxes...

Has anyone else had success using a CEC-stripper box for similar issues? I don't want to buy one if it's not going to work.

I've had so many problems with panning and motion blurring and what sometimes seems like sped up frames/motion when it comes to my B8.

I don't notice any of this when I play my Batman 89 4k disc, but see what I describe above when I play my They Live 4k disc.

I see what I describe above when I play my The Conjuring blu-ray, but not when I play my Big Trouble in Little China old blu-ray disc.

The issues I describe above is the case with many discs and videos on the internet.

Of course, I play any disc on some other TV, and it's fine - plays normally. I've adjusted everything at some point or another. And yes, the TRU motion is off.

This is so frustrating. I took the TV back initially, got another one, and it did the same thing. Now, because I waited too long, and listened to people raving about this TV and made me feel like I'm crazy for seeing what I'm seeing and that I should give it time, I'm locked into it and will be paying if off for a while (I did the Best Buy credit card buy).

The black levels are great (better than I've ever seen) and the picture is great when it's not panning or when there isn't much motion (because that's when there is blurring or even seems like the motion is being sped up) but otherwise, it's absurd for what is supposed to be one of the best TVs out there. It seems like the motion processor on these TVs are crap - that's my guess - because I've never had a TV do this. I had a Sony 4K LED prior and the motion was normal, but the black levels and backlighting were horrendous. I wish I had gotten a Sony OLED or a Samsung QLED instead.

You might have the same issues with any TV with a high refresh rate. Because I don't think it's an issue with the B8 beyond that.

What's the point of a high refresh rate if it's going to screw with the image in that way?
