Enough of the "dub supremacy" nonsense.
Bro, by the time I’m done reading, I miss the scene.

Movie watching is supposed to be enjoyable and I hate dubbed stuff. It takes you out of the film.

You don't like subtitles and dislike dubbed.
Tough spot to be in.
Best thing to do is watch a subtitled film that isn't dialogue heavy. I lean towards horror or action films.
Let your eyes get used to reading and watching the image at the same time. I look at it like training your eyes before jumping into more dialogue driven films.

I’m sure the filmmakers would love to know that I missed every scene because I read what is on the screen and by the time I look up, it’s already the next scene.

I’m such trash.
Why are you taking so long to read a few words?

I'm going to guess you have no problems with the Star Wars cantina scene?

I know that I’m the problem when it comes to subtitles.

I think I’m just a slow reader.

And here comes a bigger shock: I’ve never seen Star Wars.

I can handle a few subtitles here and there that get mixed in, it’s just when the entire movie is subtitled, it overwhelms me.

The first subtitled film I saw was Farewell My Concubine back in ‘96 and it didn’t really bother me. I’m just going to assume it’s my old age.

Someone tell Roar Uthaug that the teal & gold color grading is SO late aughts?

Ugh.

How are you managing to miss scenes by reading subtitles? Are you spelling out individual letters?

The subtitles are just below the action.
You must have severe tunnel vision, if you can't tell what's happening in the rest of the frame.

Btw, the movie was fun. Though it contains all the typical monster movie clichés. But I don't mind
Great to see a "Kaiju" style movie, based on our Nordic mythologies.

Wouldn't mind a sequel. Or a Troll VS some other monsters from our old legends.

This film was great! Really enjoyed it. I actually found the dubbing to be pretty decent.

Ok monster film but imo the weakness of the trolls is just so stupid...

Nothing really new and looks bit too much like typical hollywood monster film with many copycat scenes

Atleast they speak norwegian, and as a non english speakers subtitles is the norm for me, even tough i understand english quite well

And in the end its just humans being humans doing what they know best and that is killing everything
Bit too king kong like and would have like to see diffrent approach how it ended, felt bad for it :/

6/10

This is pretty poor. Like Roland Emmerich went on an epic drunk and woke up in Norway wearing only his pants and with only a few hundred Krone to his name. It's a generic monster film where the monster is absent for most of the film and the humans are really boring, but the thing that renders it pointless is the superior in every way Troll Hunter made in 2010

I thought this was very well made. The majority of it was played seriously which is a bonus. Fans of kaiju should find this entertaining. It would have been nice to see this in the theater rather than just on Netflix.

So nice of the troll not to cause any major damage to the city for budgetary reasons.
