That was from Peter Jacksons studio.

It was titled “Arms Race”

It was basically just showing that they had the ability and know how to do a Halo film.

Well, if it ever gets finished and released in theaters then it will be Blu-ray exclusive. Although, by that time we might not even have to worry about any competition.

According to verious reports it is slated to come out in the Summer of 2009.

did they find the story somewhere? 'cause it sure wasn't in the game!

(sorry, could not resist. i do own the game; bet aside from the AWESOME graphics and the decent play mechanics, it was a shallow experience)

My name is LembasBread! I'm all knowing when it comes to anything LOTR!

No, seriously I read all about it in a lengthy article in the latest Entertainment Weekly.

Unfortunately in a cruel twist of fate, Universal has the rights to the God of War movie.

New Line Cinema was doing the Gears of War film, so if they ever released that it would be a timed Blu-Ray exclusive. But there seem to be some rumors that the Gears film is not happening.

For what O'Connor calls the "medium term," Bungie is committed to giving Microsoft first choice of any games it develops, and working on programs for the Xbox, Microsoft Game Studios and a spin-off from the "Halo" series. O'Connor says that in the future it is possible that Bungie would develop games for other platforms. It is unlikely that Microsoft would ever allow "Halo" to appear on other consoles--such as Sony's (nyse: SNE - news - people ) PlayStation 3 or Nintendo's (other-otc: NTDOY.PK - news - people ) Wii--since Microsoft retains rights to all "Halo" intellectual property.

Looks like it's not as dead as we thought.

Peter Jackson's representative Ken Kamins has revealed that Microsoft are even as you read this (maybe) in talks with new distribution partners keen to help deliver the Halo film project
Quote:
While no deals have been concluded yet, Kamins told Variety Magazine that pre-production is in full swing, with Weta Digital and Weta Workshop (both under the watchful eye of Jackson) hard at work on the movie.
