That's what we did Thanksgiving day, as well. We just ended up binging it. The funny part was that I had zero interest in the show leading up to it but once the first episode began I was hooked.

1) haven't there been posts about this for a while?
2) this is based on SDR setting on the TV in "normal mode" it is not HDR or other stuff like torch mode....
3) there are a lot of exceptions to the law so it is as useful as a sieve at holding water.
4) let's play devils advocate and assume it is more restrictive than it is. If someone wants they can go out and buy 4 4k 42" displays and add a 2x2 processor and they end up with an 8k 84" TV that wastes a lot more electricity

This is a new ruling. The one made for HD and 4K was more realistic.

I was not aware of this until a week ago Anthony.

I've been binging Discovery of Witches on BD since I was sent the new boxed set of the trilogy (three seasons). It's pretty good. Matthew Goode is in it and he's good in it. *snare*
I like Wednesday.

This is what happens when people who don’t understand tech get to make the decisions.

The EU have massive sway though. Look at the USB C ruling a short while back. It became a ruling globally.

I agree. Isn't this what lobbyists are for, so that stuff like this gets nipped in the bud?

Only picked up a couple of Black Friday titles:

Reservoir Dogs is a revelation. I've seen it in the theater and on every format released and I have never seen it look this good.

We saw The Banshees of Inisherin in theaters. Outstanding film. Martin Mcdonagh never disappoints. Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson deserve acting nominations as well.

Also caught Smile, The Wonder and A Christmas Story Christmas on streaming. I was a tad disappointed with Smile but still enjoyed it.

I had never heard of The Wonder. It stars Florence Pugh as an English nurse in the late 1800's that travels to Ireland to watch over a girl who supposedly hasn't had food in 4 months. Interesting little film with beautiful cinematography. It's on Netflix.

A Christmas Story Christmas is the best sequel to A Christmas Story made yet (it is the third). It was enjoyable for nostalgia reasons and better than I was expecting. But of course it can't hold a candle to the original.

Reservoir Dogs is $40 in Canada (about US$30). Sigh.

According to comments in the Reservoir Dogs 4K thread, this release is missing a line of dialog:

So even without the passed out line the scene still makes sense...
The bolded part is the line that is reported to be missing.

I didn't notice that line missing when I watched it. I may have to go back and double check.

Wow, I thought the complete animated TMNT on DVD was well priced at 25 dollars, but now it's at 20. Had to blind buy it for that price. Don't remember being into that show as a kid, but I rather enjoyed the 1990 movie last year, and the game from earlier this year was okay.

That's a great deal! Loved that show as a kid. The 1990 movie is cool, too. Judith Hoag is a babe.

I’d rather have it on physical media for $17.99 than paying $12.99 and get nothing in return.

Not to mention the disc comes with the digital. Also, if one was sharp enough, the digital 4K could have been had for $4.99 a couple of weeks ago via iTunes.

Oklahoma is OK, when I got back from Vietnam I was stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma they made me an Instructor Pilot. Sylvester Stallone is an Ex-Mob Boss released from prison, and the only thing they have for him is an opportunity in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Good Series on Paramount+!

Sounds great, pay more for a defective Disc and hope they fix it. I'll take it on Digital, Physical will keep getting more problems with Budget cuts, dropping Sales, and Duplication Facility troubles!

The 4K disc is selling for just $13.00 at the moment and it includes the 4K disc, the blu-ray, and the digital code.

The streaming version probably has the same missing line of dialog as the 4K disc. Both were likely sourced from the same master. The disc is not defective; the source for it is.

I will gladly buy a 4K disc combo pack that gives me three ways to watch the movie, two of which I truly own, over relying upon frequently unreliable internet service and over taxed servers to deliver ephemeral digital diarrhea.
