IMO, Brian summed up pretty well:

On my research list.
The reason I ask is that I recommended Inferno as a excellent 3D title with superb depth and it’s actually a really good film. I forgot to mention that the audio doesn't match the picture. It’s a bit distorted and occasionally sounds quite thin. It’s not bad but just bare in mind my recommendation is based on the stunning 3D and the film itself.

Justice league 4 hour cut is just too tempting for me considering it’s a new title.

I see Heat is finally coming to 4K Blu-ray. I'm really hoping they include a Dolby Atmos audio track on that one. I'm another one really hoping for True Lies and The Abyss. Star Wars original unaltered cuts coming to 4K Blu-ray is on my wish list too although I think that one is more of a wish even than those two others. It's too bad Disney doesn't do something like the Alien Blu-rays where the disc has both the original, theatrical cuts of the film and the special editions on the disc and you can just pick which one to load when you play the disc.

The same for the Indiana Jones UHD BD's. So many dips on these I have lost count.

Blu-ray is the only way if you want great quality classics. For newer all digital films they compress much better so they don't suffer nearly as much.

Exactly this. The spiel was never that Disnee were giving up on disc but that live action catalogue stuff didn't have a future on physical from them, this morphed into the usual social media clickbait e.g. "Disnee are shutting down physical media for good!". As it turns out it was all bullshit no matter what any 'insiders' told us, the execs seem to have had a Damascene conversion - to the point where they're actually releasing some of their catalogue animated UHDs in the UK in a couple month's time.

Up until now they've basically ignored us, thrown a couple of bones our way with the OG Loin King and Aladdin plus Toy Story 1-3 to cash in on the fourth TS movie, but all that other Pixar and Disnee animated stuff that was released on US UHD and in some other countries was ignored. And what's really handy is that of the four that've been listed (Lickle Mermaid, Moana, Mulan '98 and BATB '91) I've only imported one of them so far, they're also being offered at £15 right off the bat so that's one of the quickest darn pre-orders I ever did.

We are here and we want to buy stuff on UHD, Disnee have finally figured it out.

PS

I hope we hear from Vilya soon.

What’s your take on some comments in this forum about Universal not showing much confidence in UHD in terms of new releases Geoff? Promising Young Woman is Blu-ray only for example.

Disnee's Lickle Mermaid for people who couldn't make it past S when they learned the alphabet.

I've added over 180 physical media titles to my collection over the last few months, plus some new toys to my setup:

These are included in that amount, but I am still waiting on them to arrive:

For someone that supposedly has a good eye for compression issues, you certainly missed the poor compression on the 4K version of Independence Day

Nice but why would you watch Game of Thrones on anything other than UHD BD? I guess that wasn't part of what you bought but rather an informative part of the post.

Great choice of UHD BD player. I love my Panasonic UHD BDP.

Nice to see Stranger things and Cobra Kai on disc ... I have Stranger things and need to get Cobra Kai but I will never subscribe to Netflix.

I see the Haunting there... I started watching this on Amazon prime this AM and realized it is good enough that I should find a better version to watch because streaming is awful. I'll find a better way to watch that one.

I’m confident he will be back as I’m sure he said he will need to recuperate for a while. I didn’t like to pry but I’m sure he will be with us in the coming weeks. He is part of the gang, we need him!
