One of the last things we did together was to watch Kevin Costner's THE POSTMAN. Weighing in at what seems to be approximately 9 hours long, this crapfest must have been spread over 25 Laser discs - each requiring that the viewer be a participant in their own torture every 45 minutes when they were forced to get up and flip or change the disc....

It remains the most horrific movie related experience of my life and gets my vote for worst movie ever made....

The Postman is not as atrocious as I thought. I rented the DVD years ago. It does deviate from the novel, because if I remember correctly, there are mutants and all sorts of other things in it that the film omitted. A 4K disc of it would be neat.

I did rent the 4K discs of Angel Heart and Virgin Suicides from my local shop. Angel Heart has always been great, but am excited to see how it fares on 4K disc. I've never seen Virgin Suicides.

I saw The Postman in the theater back in January of 98 and gave it an 8 out of 10. Haven't seen it since but I obviously enjoyed it at the time.

Wow, Netflix is unable to replace my broken Che Criterion disc. Plenty of Blu-rays I rented only a few years ago are no longer available, but I've never seen one run out first hand. If I knew, then I wouldn't have wasted my slot on either disc. What good is half the show?

Yeah, I have many of their special editions. Just got in The Witch last week and Dog Soldiers just shipped yesterday. Second Sight and Imprint have become my most anticipated announcements each month.

Watched the first episode from The Green Planet last night and thought it quite good. Was surprised at how much and often the Atmos track was used, not an action movie type use but it enhanced the forest scenes.

It's on The Criterion Channel.

It was done really well. Good idea well executed. Hoping Dashcam gets a Blu-ray, it also looks interesting.

By the way, VS have announced Pandora’s Mirror (Peekarama). It looks like a keeper.

If you like Host and are looking forward to Dashcam you should check out a film called "Spree." It tackles ridesharing, with a twist. That was another favorite of mine that year.

I saw the Peekarama titles. Will probably Pandora's Mirror and Young Like It Hot 4K disc.

My copy of Salad Planet and the rest are out for delivery. Hopefully, the UPS driver is not wearing his baseball cleats today and will instead stomp on my package in only his house slippers.
