Halloween for me mate, like you say, tough call though.

I have a soft spot for ‘The Fog, even though it’s inferior to those two films.

Halloween for me as well.

I love the original FLY.... but the remake gets the nod by a slim margin for being shot in my hometown..

I may have these in my digital collection as well but probably never be watched via IPTV because I have the disc.

I posted some IPTV speeds several post back, MA was much better than Vudu. Prime does pretty good with their own UHD originals at 15 Mbps, with The Rings of Power at 20 Mbps. Will check The Batman on prime soon and see how it compares to MA and Vudu.

Does anyone here have the Harry Potter 4K set? I have a chance to pick one up for ~$60 (the cases are broken, but I use a binder anyway). It sounds like most of them are not a huge upgrade in picture quality, but they all offer DTS:X where my original Blu-ray set has PCM 5.1 on films 1-5, Dolby TrueHD on film 6, and DTS-HD MA on 7 and 8. I also have the extended cuts of 1 and 2, which have DTS-HD MA. But I guess these are not available on 4K? Thanks.

I took my son to see Avatar in IMAX 3D this past weekend. He had never seen it and I was curious what his impression would be as he can be notoriously picky. But he absolutely loved it. Seeing it on an IMAX screen in 3D just can't be beat. It is such a visceral experience seeing it in its intended format. I'm not sure he would have felt the same seeing it at home.

They also showed a scene from the new one and all I can say is: WOW! The visuals in that scene were stunning. December can't get here soon enough.

I have the 4K set or one of the versions of the 4K set anyway. Mine came with the Blu Rays also.

Sadly, I can't tell you how the UHD compares to the Blu Ray and these movies put me to sleep instantly. My kids have watched them several times on Blu Ray. Maybe it's a pavlov thing because I relate these to exhausted days gone of the past when my kids were younger. I used to read them the books also before bed.

Maybe I can make extra coffee and try again but what exactly do you need to know ? ... I would rather have the UHD every time (with the exception of UHD that has a non extended cut) but in this case the set comes with both. I'm fairly sure I got it during some sort of crazy sale for super cheap.

I watched an excellent six episode mini-series on Netflix last night called Thai Cave Rescue. It is based upon the true story of a kids soccer team that gets trapped inside of a cave in the summer of 2018. Trailer here:

I watched it all in one sitting last night and now I have a 110 mile road trip each way to see a doctor this morning. Why do I do this to myself?

I bought the British set because the movies came in individual cases (I think that was the reason), but it only contained the 4K discs.

I already own all of the movies on blu-ray in the "ultimate" collector sets like these: , etc.

I felt the 4K set was worth it, but I am still keeping these blu-rays for their wealth of extras.

Halloween never did much for me. I own it on some format or another, but it is entirely for me.

My copy of The Fog languishes on DVD. I might upgrade it someday, but it is not a priority.

Weirdo.

Good luck at the docs by the way. Hope it goes smoothly.

I HATE the Friday the 13th movies. Does that make me even weirder? Refuse to own them. In fact, the first movie in that wretched series is the only movie that I ever walked out on at the cinema during its theatrical run. To this day I have never seen all of it or any of its interminable sequels.

My appointment today is routine, so no surprises expected.

Yep, even weirder.

To be fair, I’m a horror nut so F13 to me is a big deal. Some of the sequels were stronger than the original (parts 2 and 4) imo.

I love all things horror.

I own the Blu-ray’s and double dipped for the 4K set mostly for the DTS X track, which was worth it to me. Video had an uptick in quality with more visible in the latter titles especially. The audio on the set provided some of of my favorite DTS X tracks I have come across.

I probably missed my chance to upgrade my blu ray copy of Monster Trucks.

Have to keep an eye on UHD BD going out of print.

The Batman via Prime Video, video was 15 Mbps but the audio was just DD+ 5.1 at 192 Kbps. Checked with Shield Pro.

Purpose of these post, just to show how much IPTV quality difference there can be between providers for the same titles.

Got my 4K disc ready to watch over Christmas. Ditto Spiderman: No Way Home.
