I like Nicolas Cage and when the price is right I buy even his lesser works. The real story of the USS Indianapolis is very interesting and while this movie doesn't do it justice by a longshot, it remains the only movie that I know of about it.

But Moonfall doesn't even have Nicolas Cage going for it. All of the eye and ear candy in the world can't elevate the mess that is Moonfall. It is not even so bad that it is fun; it is just plain ordinary awful.

That's just my opinion, of course. I hope that you get at least $10 worth of fun out of it.

Thoughts on Sing after you watch. Have in my Netflix queue but could be a rare blind buy.

That’s fair and I like Cage also. I think of the classic Jaws scene with Quint telling the story of the Indianapolis anytime I see the Cage movie pop up.

I just did a run through of my collection and came up with two movies that I bought but couldn’t finish due to how bad they were. The Predator with Thomas Jane and Snake Eyes. Maybe Moonfall will make it a trifecta of crap.

I bought both Uncharted and Moonfall on release and didn't regret it. Those are some good deals.

I saw Where the Crawdads Sing in theaters and thought it was great. Enjoyed the score and production design. I'm still holding out hope for a UHD.

I saw this theatrically as well and thought it was a good movie. Well worth buying for $10.00.

I bought Moonfall used on 4K solely for the eye candy. Yeah, the movie is terrible but it looks really good while doing it.

Just rewatched the old Blu-ray of Fallen Angels (WKW), a pretty dark movie overall, color-wise. I forgot to move the chair into the desk before beginning. It was in front of the speaker the whole time. Good thing it's netted, allowing some sound to go through. Good thing it's black, because I couldn't even see it. At all. If I had seen it, I would have moved it in. Never happened before.

Enjoy

And I just read about AMC Zoom Rooms

AMC is turning movie theaters into Zoom Rooms for big-screen videoconferencing / Yes, you will be able to get popcorn and soda during your all-hands — and may even be able to catch a movie afterwards.

https://www.theverge.com/2022/11/7/2...aters-meetings

Theater meetings. It's like school days when they wheel in the TV.

sort of.

Looks like Amazon is doing BF deals early on a lot of UHD BD and BD titles. Judging by the ship times they have sold out on several titles.

In previous years I noticed the titles that go to Redbox in the US are the titles that come up as Black Friday promos in the US.

I've seen more of that this year so far. And it looks like a lot of places just declare the whole month the be Black Friday now.

Hooked up the new APTV4K and right off the bat, this thing is fast and has great response to the remote. Speaking of the remote it has the new USB-C input, so I will need to grab an adapter at some point in order to recharge it. I don't have any hardware that is USB-C compliant at the moment and all the new Apple stuff will have it.

some of my early Black Friday Sales orders just arrived.

I really enjoyed this blu that arrived yesterday. Much better than my DVD and so much better than the iTunes version which isn't even in the correct AR.

Mind sharing the reason for procuring a new one?

I rarely use my Apple remote, the main use use is my programmable remote for the ATV4K (and about 19 other devices ).

Just wanted that chip boost and to have the latest one. Whenever it comes to the newest streaming box-gear, I want the latest APTV4K for sure. What also sealed the deal was that a buddy of mine that works for Apple gave me one of his discount on the device.

I stopped buying Disney UHD when I realized I will always have D+

But, Black Friday prices are too much fun. I expect to get caught up on a lot of Disney titles I passed on starting with Love and Thunder.

Will be looking for Luca, Turning Red, Raya and more.

Edit - Ordered Lightyear even though I never finished it on streaming. Trying to resist ordering Mobius as I never finished that one streaming but I think that will have to hit $5.

The last Disney movie I bought was Dr Strange Multiverse. I liked the first one and am a Sam Raimi fan, so it made sense. Happy I did, as I really enjoyed it and was able to dial the system in to overcome some of the usual Disney audio shortcomings. The video was beautiful on it also. Before that it was Cruella, but still haven’t popped it in yet.
