Honestly, I find the green tint in Super Hero much more subdued. It's not as obvious or glaring as Broly or Kai.

If this is how it will be available worldwide, I'll take it.

Most will probably not mind it or be aware of it, but just take a look at Piccolo. The colors looks off.

[Show spoiler]

He really shouldn't look like that. TOEI really needs to fix this green tint mess they've been doing for a while now.

Correct the green tint is really obvious and just pure incompetence because whoever does BD authoring for Toei has no idea how to do proper color space conversion. It shouldn't be there full stop and it's absolutely unnecaptable and baffling that nobody caught this GLARING issue just by....watching the movie. All the more embarassing since this coming out after people already complained about the green tint issues with Broly.

What's strange is that the Japanese and FUNimation Blu-rays of Super Broly had green tint, meanwhile the Manga and Madman didn't so what happened?

There's no way a Japanese company that's been in the business for so long should allow that cursed green tint to keep showing up.

The Japanese Blu-ray for Broly did not have the green tint. Funimation was most likely given improperly converted masters while Toei used a proper conversion for their own release, as well as other international versions.

I knew I was inaccurate somewhere, but couldn't remember where exactly. Thanks for clarifying.

This green tint issue is something they should not have to worry about.

I came by to see what people were talking about, but while I’m here, what is the general consensus about this: https://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-S...s%2C124&sr=8-2

A combo of good and not so good transfers depending on the season? I used to watch the dub on TV as a kid, so that’s mainly what I’m looking for.

That's the cropped version. If you need it in HD, go with the 30th Anniversary Set/Steelbooks.

I thought I heard someone say that the Level Sets for all 291 episodes of DBZ were scanned and completed.

Figured I'd ask here just to get a general idea. I have a sealed US Dragon Box 7. Never been opened, it's just an extra one I have. How much could I sell that on ebay for?

It's hard to tell, but most sealed Dragon Boxes are actually used boxes that have been resealed, so they can try to sell them as new. If the shrink wrap feels stretchy, it is likely genuine; however, the more important thing for a Dragon Box buyer to focus on is the condition of the box itself, such as scratches and dings. The best advice is to not go by the prices listed on eBay. A better option would be to start an auction with detailed pictures and description, setting the starting price at $99, with a long auction time ending between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Eastern on the weekend.

I bought it new on amazon back in 2013 and didn't open it, so I can verify that it is, in fact, a factory sealed Dragon Box.

That's great! Take plenty of detailed photos so it can be scrutinized carefully. Dragon Box collectors hate it if the box corners are crunched, so make sure they can be seen clearly. Ship it well to ensure it won't be damaged. Place it in a sturdy box with lots of bubble wrap around it. If it's damaged in shipping do not be surprised if it is sent back.

Edit: As for price, over the years they gone for $100-$600

If you don't want to do an auction, share some photos with us and someone on here might be able to help you with setting a price for you.

These are the most recent sells of Dragon Box 7.
Best Offer Accepted means that it did not sell for the price they were asking.

I believe the film was all scanned but the actual restoration that they were doing for the Level sets was scrapped, opting instead to start over, use a much more automated and less expensive process, and put out the season sets instead. They still have the raw scans that they could go back to if they wanted to, but I doubt Crunchyroll is going to undergo the expense of remastering it a potential 5th time (Orange bricks, Cancelled Level Sets, Season Set Blu-rays, 4:3 30th Anniversary Set).

Explains the later raw film screenshots FUNimation showed us. I'd totally take that as it is, with the Japanese broadcast audio, and English subs.

The first two episodes have an ugly green tint, and in the fifth you can actually see four individual color casts (yellow, blue, green and red), none of which are an artistic choice or part of the lighting. It's a major problem for me, but like I say in my first post this Blu-ray "remaster" has less detail than the early 90's transfer, or even the original broadcast. At around 7 minutes into episode 20, Misato's figure is barely visible on the Blu-rays, where as her entire body can be seen in both the archival broadcast DVDs and the original DVD/LD releases. It's almost unfair for me to mention this with how comically bad it is, but this issue affects the entire show. There's many more minor issues like obvious blocking in episode 2 or a shot in episode 23 being poorly scanned to the point where the neighboring frames are visible at the top, but those are fixable where as detail being completely crushed to pure black is not. It's very likely that Eva's HD remaster was (at least partly) made around the year 2001/2002, given how the renewal DVDs are identical to the 2015 BD aside from when the DVDs actually have less DNR/remastering errors. Saying DBZ should get a remaster like Eva is like saying the rest of the series should be done like the level sets. Is it better than what we have now? Obviously, but just because it's better doesn't mean there isn't massive room for improvement.

Sony PCL mentioned the idea of a future 4K release back in 2015, but I don't really see it happening or even being being done right when the 1080p release is so poor. It's a shame because of how how beautiful the art is, I wish it'd be able to match the quality of other 35mm anime films.
An IMAX Enhanced 4K UHD release of Revival of Evangelion like what was done for 3.333 and 3.0+1.11 would be amazing. VistaVision looks amazing in 4K, just look at Vertigo.
We better call Sony to restore the movies in 4K UHD. After they're done restoring Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul in Dolby Vision + Atmos.
