Default Cheapest way to stream Atmos on SDR projector?

I have a 5.1.4 set up with a SDR projector (1080 and standard color). Is there a cheap way for me to stream my UHD movies from Disney+ and VUDU with the actual ATMOS tracks?

I realize that I can just upscale the 5.1 HDX to ATMOS, but it doesn't really do 5.1.4. The upscale only does L and R and not Front and Back.

Thanks!

I can't speak for Disney +, but I'm betting it's the same as Vudu where the atmos track it tied to the video. This means in order to get the atmos track you have to stream the UHD file.
The only streaming service (that I know of) where the audio and video are not tied to together is Apple. I know that the Apple TV 4k will give atmos audio and 1080p video with out any problems (until recently that's how I was doing it, but just upgraded my projector a couple weeks ago). However, I don't know if that applies to the Apple TV app as I have not tried that.

Does it only work for iTunes movies? Does it work like this for VUDU?

Yes, only for iTunes movies. Vudu app works on Apple TV just like other streaming boxes where the audio is tied to video.

You can connect your Vudu and iTunes accounts though Movies Anywhere. That way you should be able to stream most films you own on Vudu with Atmos through iTunes. Paramount and Lionsgate do not do Movies Anywhere sadly, and Disney unfortunately never gives iTunes their Atmos tracks unfortunately. But outside of buying a different device so that you can stream in 4K/Atmos and then downscale the 4K picture for your SDR projector, I think iTunes might be your best option right now.

I’m not sure if MA allows you stream Atmos without the 4K picture.
