You would think they would have pushed up the release date but I guess that’s why they released it on digital. Either way I’ll be getting the 4K release.

That’s unfortunate. I wouldn’t have minded a horror movie cinematic universe.

They could end up like that, only this time they’re not putting the cart before the horse. If the movies are good and the opportunity presents itself, they may try again in a less corporate way.

Except this movie doesn't fit into that universe.
In fact, it should be called Invisible Suit Man.

It has as much to do with the "Dark Universe" as a Scooby Doo villain does.

Such a shame. I was so pumped for the Dark Universe. Seemed like it had so much potential.

Eh, they’ve said the other movies will likely undergo a similar modern retelling as The Invisible Man. I can see how the “character” can interact with others, though it has no reason to with how well and self contained it is.

There’s nothing stopping a crossover narratively speaking.

This was always intended to be a stand-alone film and has no connections to others aside from the easter egg homage to the original film:

You’re missing the point.

Well. If Leigh Whannel doesn’t want it to connect to anything, then a crossover would be difficult.

Got the 19.99 stream. PQ was fine.

I liked the movie but it didn't floor me or anything. I did like though
[Show spoiler]how it's ambiguous for a long time whether she's hallucinating, or not.

Well I don't think I'll be watching this again so won't get the UHD. Definitely recommend watching once, maybe when the stream is at normal rental prices.

I don't think it's ambiguous that she's hallucinating, I mean the movie is called The Invisible Man, not The Invisible Man Maybe.

Yeah, it's pretty much not ambiguous after that moment in the kitchen where the oven burner is cranked all the way up. She's in the other room when it happens, so she's not even around to hallucinate that.

I mean in something like Fight Club
[Show spoiler]the guy does plenty of things he thinks he's not in the room for.

I didn't know
[Show spoiler]for a long time whether she was just insane or not.

Universal and Blumhouse are higher than a damn kite if they think I'm dropping $20 on an HD download for this. The least they could do is offer a 4K/HDR option on Apple TV, considering that other 'Theater at Home' releases have offered this option. And, in the case of 'Birds of Prey' and 'Bloodshot', they're offering the 4K/HDR option for purchase, at virtually the same price.

I'll gladly wait for the UHD Blu for this before paying to see it.

Yeah, the $20 price for an HD stream is nuts. I think Universal might adjust over time, though, seeing as though other studios are releasing their new films for purchase in 4K, or for rental. I'm dying to see this again, but not paying $20 for an HD rental when I could buy the 4K disc before too long for roughly the same price.
