Default Van Helsing, the movie so many hate

I thought it was funny and Beckinsale looked incredible in all those leather outfits, hope this one gets the digital treatment soon.

I would - get it for $10-$15 bucks on BR. I love cheesy fantasy like that.

Van Helsing is one of my FAVORITE films. Integrating most of the Universal classic monsters into the story was sheer genius. This will be an immediate buy when it comes to Blu-ray. I can't wait to sink my teeth into it!

I didn't hate it, actually I LOVED IT! I own the DVD. Though seeing
[Show spoiler]Anna Valerious die at the end
depressed me.

borrowed the DVD from a friend at work once and loved it! Would definitely get it on BR if it's released at a budget (catalog title) price.

I have been waiting for this since Universal joined the Blu team. Still waiting and would pick it up in an instant.

This was suppose to come out next week in the UK (April 7) but I just read it was pushed back to May... There's also a German edition coming out the same time so it's a good bet that one is delayed as well...

I couldn't really stand it the first time, but it kinda sorta grew on me with a few more watches. Like A.I. and Moulin Rouge before it.

even though its a 2 years past topic, i do like it too. i think its a good comic booky tribute the the original horror icons. i do not think its perfect, but i have good fun watching it.

people are never happy. when universal did the wolfman movie, they *****ed about it. i though it was a masterpiece. benitio did a hell of a job with his character.

The b&w opening sequence of Van Helsing was awesome.

Rest of the film, not so much.

As mentioned, many fans hate The Wolfman remake, I enjoyed it.

I'll be honest here; I'm not much of a fan regarding "Van Helsing". My sister has it on DVD, and I think I can count how many times I've seen it on less than one hand. I'm not really into horror anymore to begin with, but I remember thinking that the filmmakers ripped the story out of the early "Castlevania" games, with characters like giant bats, werewolves, Frankenstein's monster, and the Count himself making appearances...not to mention the whole notion of a hunter with lots of gadgets on the loose. Nowadays, my thoughts usually are along the lines of "if they ever do make a Castlevania movie, some folks would accuse them of ripping off this movie"...kinda ironic, huh?

I thought it was a really good, fun movie. My wife enjoyed it to a point, she thought the last half of the movie was a bit much.
