Been using my Panasonic DMP-BDT210 since 2012 with ripped BD back-ups of original discs with very few problems. The player was not used in 6 weeks and all of a sudden it will not play the ripped discs but will play the originals.
I have ripped about 120+ BD discs, all on the exact same brand/type of media and have watched over half of them several times all without fault.
Now none of them will play.
I have done the true factory reset, twice, tried unpluging the unit overnight, tried with and without the SD card.
I even tried to roll back the firmware by attempting to install 1.88 from a CD (even though I was sure it would not work).
Can anybody please shed some light on this weird issue?
- Player firmware: 1.92,
- Ripping software: DVDFab ver 9.2.0.5,
- Media: Verbatim BD-R DL,

YMMV
Please please tell me where in the btt490 to insert this SDcard. Is it in the front display? Does it need to be formatted?

You don't need to format SD cards for use. They're ready for use right out of the package.

Although there may have been some design changes since that I'm not aware of, you're inquiring about a 2012 model year player. At that time, the SD card slot was behind a flip down panel on the front of the player. Flip the plastic piece across the front of the player that reads "Panasonic" down. It should automatically happen when you open the disc drawer.

I'm reminded of an Aliens line from the inquest about Ripley's flight status.

Default Wonít play 4K Ultra DVDs

I have the Panasonic DMO-BDT270. It works well. Then I tried a 4K Ultra HD DVD, it says the disc is incompatible. Iím done all the software updates and this is supposed to be a 4K Ultra player. Is this a common problem?

Yes, it's a common "problem" for UHD BDs to not play on a 1080 BD player.

Snark aside, welcome to the forum Saxrasta.

The DMP-BDT270 is not a 4K UHD BD player. It "upscales" 1080 to quasi-4K but it does not play the native 4K new UHD BD format.
