Blu Ray menu problem with player/PS3

MY APOLOGIES IF THIS IS AN INAPPROPRIATE PLACE FOR THIS QUESTION!!

I wasnt sure where else to ask.

I use a PS3 for my blus. I put in the blu ray of V/H/S tonight, cycled through the previews, and arrived at the main menu screen. Problem is none of the options (play, chapters, extras, etc) show up so I cant actually play it. This hasn't happened previously with this disc.

I restarted the PS3, restored to factory settings, same problem. Any suggestions?

Try clearing the persistent memory or persistent storage. Test the disc on another player, friend's or families, to see if the problem is with the disc itself.

Turn OFF anything related to BD Live. BD Live causes LOTS of problems with older discs in particular. Namely:

"BD Internet Connection
Select whether or not your PS3™ system connects to the Internet during BD playback. This setting applies only to BD that support Profile 2.0 (BD-LIVE).
Confirm: Set your system to prompt for confirmation before connecting to the Internet.
Allow: Set to allow your system to connect to the Internet without confirmation. BD Internet Connection"

Choose "Confirm" to disable BD Live.

A full system restore, last resort, is an option but you will lose any saved games and such.
