Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

I’ve been mainly farming for Divine Confetti using my previous save. I haven’t started NG+3 because I am really, really rusty. What I am trying to get reacquainted with is:

- the feel of the Xbox controller
- using the d-pad to heal
- timing of my Mikiri Counter is off
- the grappling hook R2 button
- running

I shouldn’t have left after my second play through. That was my mistake.

Day 2:
10- General Matsumoto ~ 2 attempts

13- Long Arm Centipede ~ 1 attempt
14- Jinsuke ~ 10 attempts

Day 3:
15- Snake Eyes ~ 12 attempts
16- Tokujiro ~ 2 attempts
17- Mist Noble ~ 1 attempt

Playing like trash. Still trying to get used to the control mechanics.
I have a selection of bosses to fight:
- Genichiro
- Lady Butterfly
- O-Rin
- Corrupted Monk

18- Corrupted Monk ~ 12 attempts
19- Snake Eyes ~ 4 attempts

Good news is I get to learn the boss's attack patterns. Bad news is I am getting impatient.

Probably fight Genichiro next.

20- Long Arm Centipede ~ 1 attempt


21- Genichiro ~ 16 attempts - I had to relearn his attack moves. Not too difficult, but it was a pain.

Tried O-Rin several times and failed.
Might go for the Headless that is underwater or Lady Butterfly.

22- Guardian Ape ~ 50 tries
23- Headless (underwater) ~ 2 attempts
24- Shichimen Warrior ~ 3 attempts
25- Lone Shadow Vilehand ~ 20 attempts
26- Lady Butterfly ~ 3 attempts
27- Chained Ogre - 2 attempts

Day 7:
28- Lone Shadow Masanaga ~ 10 attempts

29- Guardian Apes x2 ~ 3 attempts
30- Headless (Hidden Forest) ~ 10 attempts I hate this damn optional boss!

OMG! I finally beat this old ass!!

This boss fight was frustrating!! There are 2 attacks in phase 1 that you need to do a steep angle dodge. He builds your posture really fast. This took a long time to figure out! Used a lot of Divine Confetti in phase 2.

I am worned out and pissed off.

32- Corrupted Monk ~ 10 attempts
I might have been lucky. Easy phase 1 & 2. Phase 3, I used firecrackers & Fistful of Ash. Easy Peasy.

Defeated more bosses tonight:

33- Divine Dragon ~ 20 attempts
34- Shichimen Warrior @ Ashina Depths ~ 1 attempt
35- Seven Spears @ Ashina Reservoir ~ 10 attempts
36- Bull @ Fountainhead Palace ~ 2 attempts

I was messing around with the final boss Genichiro/Isshin. I can get to phase 2 of Isshin easily.

Just defeated the final bosses Genichiro & Isshin the Sword of Saint. This took almost 200 attempts. I was going crazy trying to figure out his last 2 phases.


Technically, I have finished the game, even though I did not kill all of the optional bosses. I will try Demon of Hatred and start NG+4.

I feel kinda awesome.

Defeated 2 bosses:

- Shichimen Warrior @ Fountainhead Palace
- Demon of Hatred ~ almost 50 tries.
No pellets needed, but I did use 5 Divine Confetti. The wall of flames in phase 3 was painful. The arena for this boss fight was DUMB. I kept running into the wooden fence & watchtower.

I will try O-Rin and another Headless. If I can’t beat either of them, then I will just start NG+4. I feel like going back to Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne, instead.

- Headless

Can’t beat the 2 other Headless or Ujinari Mizuo.

Probably start NG+4. I got that cool Lazulite Sacred Flame.

Friday defeated 18 bosses, including mini bosses. I had difficulty with the Corrupted Monk.

Saturday defeated 5 bosses, including mini bosses. Genichiro took 2 tries.

Haven’t fought Lady Butterfly, a couple of Headless or Shichimen Warrior.

I did it! I did it! Beat this damn boss! This took 200 tries. Emma was easy.

I was starting to have doubts on my abilities. This boss is only about inflicting & maintaining posture and lots of firecrackers. It took me a long time to learn both phases attack moves. This is only my 2nd time beating this boss.

I will try Lady Butterfly and a Shichimen Warrior and end this run.

Perhaps start NG+5.
My Attack Power is @ 20. I cannot upgrade it any higher.

Oh man…….this took at least 3 days. I suffered a lot trying to figure this boss. I considered giving up at one time.

Started NG+5 Thursday night. I skipped several mini/optional bosses.

Yikes!! I accidentally gave Kuro’s Charm.
Looked online and was able to re-acquire it, otherwise the difficulty would have been too much for me to handle.

Good news is that I have acquired all Skills from the Skill Tree.

Finished Sekiro NG+5. I did the same boss fights & ending. Isshin took 20 tries and not 200, lmao!
