Honestly I laughed out loud. So, thanks for that. Download them, 4K is probably overrated.

If they actually did come back that would be a bit more convincing.

My crabbing about it is only temporary.

Told by who? People in the forum? I called iTunes about it and they suggested rebooting my ATV4k.
That doesn't make any sense.

You don't believe the 4Ks are coming back but your complaining is only temporary?

Downgrades are temporary. This is just a fact.

Movies are not removed from libraries. This is a fact.

If you have movies missing from your library then it is technical issue. You shouldn't contact iTunes for technical issues because you will most likely just get through to the billing department and those agents cannot help but also will not identify themselves billing department because they are so starved of human contact that they'll just try to keep you on the line.

You should contact the support department for the actual device itself and choose an option like Connectivity. Just avoid the iTunes and apps options.

You laughed?

Does that mean the doomsayer thing is over and you'll stop the "end is nigh" stuff?

Yes. I already tried to stop. I'm really done now. I bet you a nickel I won't be here when Casino Royale goes to HD. Seriously, I'm in a good mood.

I have about 300 iTunes 4K movies for now and most of the time iTunes upgrades my movies not downgrades them.

It will take me quite some time to get that many 4K discs. I am glad I fully understand how precarious iTunes 4K is and my biggest hope is if more of my iTunes 4K movies are lost then those titles are available on 4K disc.

Logging off... Good Day and Good Luck,

Brian

I am done buying iTunes content. That's not to say I'm done discussing iTunes in forums. I don't trust them to keep a copy of content I buy. I still have a large iTunes collection but it will only get bigger with codes from my Disc purchases. I'm a little disturbed because I tried to go all iTunes and sort of knew about the possibility of losing content but I was in denial like most iTunes content buyers still are.

Now, I buy UltraHD Blu Ray and if they come with DC codes I will still redeem them. iTunes just doesn't get any more money for purchases. (I still have AppleMusic) This isn't a boycott by me but a full realization that you can't actually buy iTunes content and expect to keep it. Maybe you can for HD but I tend to buy 4K content now for most things.

ATV4K is still one of my favorite source devices (I only have 2 source devices so it's up there. My favorite is my UHD BD player.)

It's strange but on every forum you soon find one name that keeps cropping up. That person always finds time to post against thread topics but never a moment to contribute and help others. In fact those posts always seem to be a conversation with themselves.

Update to my last post*.

I had an email from Warner Bros shortly after my post. Basically it was to rate the advisor and leave feedback. As you can imagine my curt reply told them what I really thought.

Spooky that you got an email right after posting. Such has happened to me too.

Are they watching?

Because one is paranoid, it doesn't mean that they're not watching.

Did you ever mention which movie/movies you lost?

Yes actually.

Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. All of these went from 4K to HD.

I have requested a refund from Apple and if it comes through it more than covers my cost to replace these movies on UHD BD which I already have done.

Sorry to drag up an older post but itís just occurred to me, MGM donít provide 4K digital copies with any of their movies unless theyíre in collaboration with another studio such as Warner Bros so itís hardly surprising this Daniel Craig set comes with HD digital copies.

Imagine my surprise when my 4K copies became those HD digital copies.

Not sure why itís come as a surprise, with the amount of iTunes movies you do have you should know by now that this scenario is pretty much the norm when the 4K discs get released and theyíre adding HDR/DV or Atmos.

Also it is not very relevant here since the Daniel Craig set was Vudu only.

Will be happy to see when the come back as 4K, but unless you bought them directly from iTunes, you never had 4K. And if you did, you still have the rights.
