HD-DVD has a huge title that week, and BD has nothing. They have some good titles this week that might carry over to next week, but nothing close to Transformers.

Blu's far larger player base (yes, the PS3 does count for something) will give it a larger 'buying window' for consumers on titles. Basically, this means that titles that sold well one week will continue to sell well for weeks after. HDDVD really doesn't see this in as such a pronounced way... For HDDVD if a title doesn't sell well in week one it just doesn't pick up or give a good return over time.

This is why 300 is still among top sellers for Blu, whereas it has started dropping fast for HDDVD. HDDVD simply ran out of consumers with players to buy it already.

I think Transformers may be the number one selling title between the two formats, but in total numbers Blu-ray will outsell HD-DVD.

It doesn't matter if we lose 1 week, as long as we dominate the 4th quarter. And judging from each formats releases from now til Xmas, bluray has the rest of the year locked up.

I plan on being a dick and hiding a few copies behind the crappy movies. That will keep the sales low. Doohhhhhhh

I expect blu will take a beating but Toshiba will still stand to lose $99+ million dollars. The only winner is Dreamworks. Seriously, I'd have only bought that movie to beat Red on that date. The sequel better have a story and some acting and maybe some suspense or a twist.

I'm gonna do my part to help he numbers with between 5 and 10 SKUs. PS3 owners need to get off their asses.

Sorry, I am sure you did not mean to slam us PS3 owners who have been making a big difference in this war as we have been buying just as many movies as stand alone supporters.

Hopefully your not being sucked in by the HD-DVD crowd who has said that PS3 owners "don't buy movies". We do!

I will be shocked if Blu wins Transformer week, Don't get me wrong I would love to see it, But Transformer is the best selling HD disk on Amazon and it isn't even released yet.
