To anybody reading who has never experienced this film before, I'm genuinely BEGGING you to check it out. It's a riot. It hasn't exactly had a deluge of great releases on home video, so I'm delighted it's finally receiving a Blu-ray release. I just hope it's the fully uncut version.

It will probably be the NC-17 version, as I think that's what Lionsgate made into an HD master a few years ago now. It was first released on PAL DVD in Germany by StudioCanal in 2016, but that disc suffered one cut, apparently for an FSK-16 certificate:

However, in 2018, it appeared on Amazon Prime Video in Germany with that cut restored, meaning it is the NC-17 version:

This version is only 2 seconds longer, but should be easy to differentiate from the FSK-16 version. Supposedly, it is FSK-18, but I can't find any source for that on the FSK website. Hopefully, this NC-17 / FSK-18 version is what Imprint is using for their Blu-ray.

Incidentally, Amazon Prime Video in the USA lists a version of the film that is supposedly NC-17, but also supposedly 78 minutes. I wonder if that is just an error or if it was actually the US R-rated version? In any event, it is unavailable there right now:

The fully uncut version was only ever released on VHS in the USA (the stated running time on the tape is 92 minutes) and I don't think we'll be getting that. It's mostly dialogue, but one of the sex scenes is also significantly longer:

Hopefully, if this gets released in the USA, the uncut version is included from a VHS source, if need be.

Edit: ok didn’t know W#ore was a bad word. Anyway the Blu-ray will be released soon. Directed by Ken Russell.

FINALLY it’s being released on Blu-ray.

I don’t know about the rest of the world but I never saw this out on DVD. I only have my VHS.

Theresa Russell what a performance!

I guess I’ll see the posts in this thread if anybody else likes this movie as much as I do. Loved it when Theresa breaks the fourth wall in this film.

I had a bootleg DVD and then a German DVD, which I never got around to watching (I started, but the audio seemed out of sync). I ordered the blu-ray as soon as I heard about it and it's due to arrive Monday. Can't wait!

When it was released on VHS, some video stores would not carry a movie with that title.The video cassette company (Vidmark?) released versions that eliminated the title from the box. Instead, it said "If You Can't Say It, Just See It".

And that is what it said on the theatre marquee when I saw it. Actually, I wouldn't have even known about the movie if I had not happened to see that marquee, did a double-take, then noticed it was NC-17 and went, "I HAVE TO SEE THAT!" without having any other info.

Thought it was so-so. Getting the Imprint blu for the special features and the odd nostalgia I have for the film.

I'm not really familiar with Imprint and didn't know it was an Australian company but when I clicked on the cover photo it showed a dollar amount and also the buy link moved me to Amazon which is where I'm buying it. I just assumed it was an American company or had a satellite office here.

It's pretty expensive but I guess I've paid this price for steelbooks and wow just so excited the movie is finally be released

The last time I was this excited was when Love With The Proper Strange finally came out on bluray and also the Tony Curtis film The Great Imposter in the Box Set. Both of these titles also never had a DVD release.

Goodbye Charlie on bluray...here's hoping [I have the DVD-r and I hate recordable discs]

edit: I'm also wondering if this never came out on DVD because of the title and how it would be marketed. Also it was not a successful film.

There is something about Theresa Russell that is at once scary and sexy. I'm also a huge fan of Black Widow. I've really not seen that many of her films but both Wh0re and Black Widow really made an impression on me.

It came out on DVD in most of Europe. Nothing at all in North America or UK or Australia. The Spanish DVD is titled "Puta" which I find rather amusing

Yes I think I did see this DVD but it was region B or PAL I think.

Since the pandemic I’ve seen a lot of titles come out on Blu-ray and some titles that were never even released on DVD.

Paramount is really leading the way along with Warner Archive, and Sony MOD has been releasing some holy grail titles as well as the boutique labels.

I’ve been amazed at the amount of titles that have been released which I had almost given up hope of ever coming out.

It blew my mind last night when I saw Wh0re in the deals section.

I taped this off of HBO over 20 years ago. However, I ran out of tape and the movie ended around the 50 min mark. It was so good. Since then, nothing on disc, until now. My copy arrives from Diabolik tomorrow, so after more than 20 years, I will be able to finish the movie. Can't wait!

I've no idea when my own copy arrives. I pre-ordered it alongside Harem (which comes out in September IIRC) and I don't know if Via Vision are the kind of company to ship the two together to save on shipping.

I can tell you for certain that they will ship together.... at least that is what they did for me. Also, they won't hold copies of non-preorders that ship with your pre-orders. Another thing is they charge you right away, and since they charge in AU$, you will be at risk (or gain) of foreign currency fluctuations.
