I would take a SD Blu-ray release with the Sci-Fi Channel commerical ads as a bonus feature if they can't restore in HD. I still remember the ads for DTP on Sci-Fi in my head because I used to watch Sci-Fi as a kid (The ads would be like "GET READY FOR PART 2 NEXT SATURDAY!!!"). New DMT as well with the English dub. I still kept on my old DVD release because of nostalgia.

Secret project? I'm even more interested now.

Im currently trying to watch all the megaman battle network dub anime that Capcom put in there YouTube channel and some episodes and I've only gone thru 22 of them. Here and there there will be an odd audio glitch. I'm assuming this is what the ultimate muscle masters might've had since it hasn't been digitized in a while.

I got up to Axxess episode 34. There are like two more times that I remember like a half-second long audio dropout taking place.

Why? That's stupid, especially in the 21st century. This isn't the days of VHS.

The Japanese version is far superior and actually talks about the Nobles in it, something the English version does not.

Anyway, I bought a new copy of the Devil Man OVA and wouldn't you know, the disc has a dent in it.

It makes sense. The Japanese dub isn't even considered the original version. It wasn't recorded until the film had been out for a bit. It would've been a nice bonus feature, but that's all it would've been, no matter how good it sounds. The film was produced in English instead of Japanese because Madhouse was really trying to push for a mainstream western release.

The original script was written by Kawajiri in Japanese though, so the Japanese "dub" is at least a closer version of the original intended meanings of the dialogue, if not the performances.

The Lensman book series lasted until 1954, so under US copyright law the last book goes out of copyright in 2050.

If the authors can claim that the series only used elements from the magazine publications of the books, then 2044. I have no idea if the book publications introduced anything that was shown in the anime. If they only used material from the first four books (not sure about that) then it could be as early as 2036. Worsel was introduced in Grey Lensman, so it can't be before 2036.

Doc Smith died in 1965 and (if you believe Wikipedia) Japan used life+50 years up to 2018 and didn't retroactively extend the length, so the series entered public domain in Japan in 2015.

That's for the source material. If the producers of the anime also aren't willing to release it, the limit is 95 years after publication, which is 2080 for the film and 2081 for the series. In Japan it is 70 years so 2053-2054.

Okay, and? That's still not accurate to the book.

Finished the aim for the ace movie. A good time, some real neat animation in the final match but it sure didn’t satisfy the same way the original tv show did. Glad to have it in my collection.

You know I would totally love a release of the Japanese cut for Kinnikuman Nisei, buuuuuuuut goddamn this dumbass 4Kids dub for Ultimate Muscle still rocks.

Edit: Seeing the credits for the first time, I just realized that Tom Kenny was an executive producer on Ultimate Muscle. He’s a noted wrestling fan amongst entertainers in Hollywood(especially during that time). This probably explains why the show was able to convince execs to fund a conclusion for the program.
