Most that I've noticed have "only @ Best Buy" on BB's website. Crank and Cool Hand Luke 4k Steelbooks for instance have it, but not Dungeons and Dragons. This one doesn't, but that could change.

Not really feeling the cover and back artwork on this. Like the inside art.

Kind of like some kind of Cylon chest burster or something.

Plus, they forgot one can place art UNDER the discs.

I like the old style emblem on the back, but overall, this is really some fracking feldergarb.

What’s the story behind this? Is it an expanded pilot episode or a few episodes cobbled together? And does it stand up on its own apart from the series?

The first episode, according to IMDB, is 2 hours and 13 minutes long. A pilot movie
So it could be just that one.

This is a SLIGHTLY shorter theatrical re-edit of the 3-hour (with commercials) television event from 1978. This cut first played theaters almost concurrently with that TV premiere, and even the Fotonovel made in 1978-- which was actually an off-brand knock-off called a Photostory, lol -- adhered to THIS cut. I wore that book OUT; still have in on my shelf, but the pages are all falling apart.

Later in syndication, the 3-hour TV cut would air as three one-hour episodes (again, with commercials) and this cut would go on to be the only version widely available on VHS.

I like this cut better than that longer TV version; the scenes that were cut were largely disposable, in my opinion. I only miss one little bit with Serena (Jane Seymour) being a TV host just prior to the attack on Caprica.

The movie version also kills of Baltar, so makes no sense if you watch it with the rest of the series. It's meant as a standalone film.

It would be disappointing if it were just the pilot. They could have put the entire first season in this. They could have even put the Galactica 1980 sequel in there as well and done it with four discs without stacking.

UK version arrived. Glossy finish. The dreaded glue dots are on the paper wraparound, so take care…

Mine says is going to be by me on Monday, shipped from bestbuy 87, so it means it shipped from location 87, a store, very likely in a bubble mailer , so I will be exchanging it on Tuesday morning.

Got mine today. No digital copy. Original promo pics had it. Tyroks pictures don’t have it either. Kind of disappointing, but the steelbook looks good.
