Have done a web search to find out why the 3rd and 10th November, 1994 editions of TOTP are being skipped by BBC Four. Have checked an old BBC website section for TOTP2, which lists the presenters of the editions of the show - the 3rd November, 1994 edition was presented by Kylie Minogue, with the 10th November, 1994 edition presented by Bruno Brookes (so it is likely because of an artist who was on each edition).
Subsequently checked a website which I think another member/poster has mentioned in this thread before, "The TVDB.com", and among the tracklist for the 3rd November, 1994 edition is a song by R. Kelly (music video clip during part of the Top 30 or Top 40 music singles chart countdown), and played over the end credits of the 10th November, 1994 edition is a TOTP2 archive studio performance clip of a song by Gary Glitter. |

Have checked the BBC website page for the repeats etc. of the show today, and as of the time of writing there are no repeats of TOTP scheduled for two weeks on Friday (23rd June). This year's Glastonbury coverage is during that weekend, so I'm assuming the repeats will be taking a two week break.

7 pm - 8 pm: Today at the Test 8 pm - 9 pm: Monty Don's Adriatic Gardens (3 of 3). Source: TV & Satellite Week (Saturday 17th to Friday 23rd June, 2023). ***** The 15th and 22nd December, 1994 editions are being skipped by BBC Four. The reason? Based on website TheTVDB.com, a TOTP2 archive studio performance clip is shown over the end credits (a Gary Glitter song), and based on the archive BBC TOTP2 presenters section the 22nd December, 1994 edition was presented by Gary Glitter. Last edited by OceanBlue; 06-15-2023 at 08:53 PM. Reason: Added information about two skipped TOTP editions on BBC Four. |

Having had a good look at the music tracklist information on website TheTVDB.com, the first few editions of TOTP in 1995 will be affected. One of my favourite songs by The Human League (Tell Me When) was on three editions early in that year, but on each of those three editions is R. Kelly.
Update: Looks like The Human League first appeared on the show with Tell Me When on the 22nd December, 1994 edition (a skipped edition). They next appeared on the show with the same song on the 5th January, 1995 edition (which is scheduled to be repeated on BBC Four two weeks on Friday (14th July), however it may get skipped by the channel). Source: Thetvdb.com and the BBC website page for the repeats of the show. Last edited by OceanBlue; 06-28-2023 at 08:18 PM. Reason: Updated post. |

Having again checked the BBC website page for the first regular edition from 1995 being repeated by BBC Four a week on Friday a few days ago (the 5th January, 1995 edition), I spotted the different runtime (twenty-four minutes). So I would say that this edition, instead of BBC Four skipping it, has edited/cut out an R. Kelly song (including Jack Dee introducing it and possibly commenting on the song after it ends). The runtime for the next regular edition (the 12th January, 1995 edition) is as normal (twenty-eight minutes).
