Default HD DVD in my Harry Potter boxset

So I bought the boxset and I'm looking through it when I get home, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is on HD-DVD! What the hell? Anyone else run into this? I've heard of people running into the same thing with the Planet Earth series. I'm sad

So random!!! That would suck, but at least you can return it. I am off to the store to get the big box set and hope I don't run into the same thing. In one of my seasons of The Simpsons, I ended up with 2 of the same discs, it was pretty funny. I was watching the show and thought I grabbed the wrong disc so I looked in the case to see the exact same disc I was watching. Very odd feeling for a moment...

Quick get it out of there before it contaminates the other films with shoddy pic and sound

Exactly! In fact, I'd put it in something (do you have a lead box) to keep it away from your Blu-ray discs.

That may not be good enough.... he has probably touched the disc with his hands....

Wrap your hands in a plastic bag and call 911. Be sure not to touch anyone with the infected HD-DVD hand. God help you...

Default Uh oh

I too have the kryptonite disc. My Goblet of Fire is an HD-DUD disc.

I've emailed the digital bits, their usually good about reporting problems to the studios.

As maddening as Im sure it is to get an HD-DVD in your BR set, just imagine though the fury that will be unleashed if a DUDite gets a blueray disk in their set!

No, no! Heck, he might like it if he plays it accidentally on his friends PS3, his family's BR Player, or wherever if he's tempted - then one more convert.

Or he could spazz out and explode spontaneously.

Either/or.

no way did i touch that thing. I brought it back to Best Buy. I swear it has to be a prerequisite to get hired that you have no idea what you're talking about. The guy at the service counter actually tried telling me it was supposed to be in there. That the sets were both Blu-ray and HD-DVD. Talk about stupid.

God I would have been literally FLAMING mad at just opening the boxset and seeing an HDDVD, then if I went back to the store and had to hear that.... I think I would have flipped out. I hate ignorance, or at least when people show off their ignorance by talking about stuff they know they dont know about. Ugh, they really would have felt a blu-ray of lightning come out of my fists dragon ball z style if this had happen to me.

I cannot own anything that an HD-DVD has touched!
Bring it back....then use antibacterial soap.
