Default Blu-ray Movies In Black & White

These past couple of days I've finally been able to watch some great movies in my collection that are in black & white. Last saturday for the first time ever I was able to watch another Martin Scorsese masterpiece in Raging Bull all I can saw was wow! the transfer on this movie was so damn great and Scorsese did the right thing by presenting this brutal boxing movie about Jake Lamotta's life in black & white.

The next movie I saw tonight that was in black & white was Robert Rodiguez's great movie Sin City

Both movies in my IMHO should be reference material for both PQ & AQ on blu-ray movies.

I'm definitely going to buy the movie only version of Casablanca when it comes out and will definitely pickup It's A Wonderful Life once it's also out on blu-ray.

Not sure what other good black & whites movies are out now or will be released in the future on blu ray but if they are as good as these 2 movies I will most certainly by them.

The 400 Blows and The Third Man both qualify as fantastic movies, with fantastic B&W transfers.

I'd like to second the love for "The Third Man"... great great movie.

"Good Night, and Good Luck" is in b&w white also. That is a very good movie.

While, I haven't seen the blu ray transfer of "The Wages of Fear" yet, that is a really enjoyable b&w movie.

Nothing can beat the first part of Casino Royale. I wish they'd release a version in just that style and call it "Vintage Edition" or something. Or I could just turn off the colour and save cash.

As said before, The Mist has a black and white version, all you do is select it from the menu. Good Night & Good Luck was also excellent.

Nah, don't prepare for a beating. I liked it too. Speaking of B/W movies, I will definitely be picking up Psycho if it ever comes out.

Don't forget Dr. Strangelove and The Longest Day! U2: Rattle And Hum is mostly B&W. And most of Sweeney Todd has a B&W look to it!

You say black and white and I instantly think of the just-released classic Bluray version of - "Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"!
A great flick with fantastic performances by Peter Sellers in three roles.

Dr. Strangelove, yes. The Longest Day, not so much.

In Cold Blood looks really good too.

I'd love to see The Good German on BD. Not a great movie but it would look amazing.
