Puppet Master Axis of Evil (5.1) didn't rot.
But yeah all the first runs of the 5.1 version of the first film died. Doesn't matter as 1-3 are infinitely superior in the UK.

Depends on if you care about lossless audio.

I think the first Puppet Master is definitely worth getting from the UK due to better PQ, 2 audio commentaries and lossless audio. However, the only advantage for 2 and 3 are lossless audio, and while I would prefer that, I'm sure I'll be able to get the US releases really cheap.

Hmm, shame to hear about those rot issues. I've ordered myself a copy of Puppet Master X on blu-ray and I really hope it doesn't rot, although I figure the odds of that happening aren't too high since I'm just ordering it now and I highly doubt it's the first run of copies for this movie. So even if there was an issue (although I haven't heard anything about rotting Full Moon blu's since the Puppet Master debacle) it should in theory be resolved.

Hey everyone, I see the Bluray.com review of Puppet Master 2 and 3 are pretty good for the PQ. How is the PQ of the UK Puppet Master 2 and 3??

Still waiting for mine to get here from the UK. They already shipped. I am in Florida and it seems to take forever.

I ordered 1, 2 and 3 from the UK. Because of what i heard in this thread about the encodes and the fact that Full moon disc quality is not as good as what is being released from the UK.

I just found out that Full Moon's domestic Blu Ray releases are actually BD-R.
Subspecies, and Puppet Master are at least...

Somebody on Horror Digital.com ran the re-pressed 5.1 edition of Puppet Master and Subspecies through some sort info scanner type thing, and they were revealed to be BD-R's.
Seemingly this only applies to discs DIRECTLY FROM Full Moon Direct.

Whoa but are people sure it is only the ones directly through Full Moon? The PM disc that rotted out for me was bought from Amazon and so was the other one I bought to make sure it wasn't a faulty disc. Both bought from Amazon, both rotted out.

I checked with all my Puppet Master Blu-ray releases and I-III and Axis Of Evil appear to be factory pressed (I would've noticed a symmetrical ring around the bottom of the discs if they were BD-Rs). However, Axis Rising may and I reiterate MAY be a BD-R cuz I did discovered a ring. Unless anyone can prove me wrong.

I just know that if there's a choice, I'll always choose the disc from 88 Films.
I love and respect Full Moon, but I don't trust them.
I've learned not to. Not to say they are malicious, they'll fix a problem when it arises- but their lack of effort and pride in their products harms them.

Actually I have heard Charles Band is a bit of a shady character so I wouldn't trust his products. I have heard things over the years but one of the product related ones was selling the original Puppet Master set on DVD but pretending like they just recently discovered them in some warehouse while in reality they were printing them somewhere out of the country and charging 100 bucks for them. Apparently Paramount had the rights and they were trying to get around them.

Yeah that's some of Band's more famous acts.
He didn't own the rights to a lot of what he sold, often those DVDs were simply copies of VHS and the occasional Laserdisc.
