Default Movies you wish could have been a series

Was watching Bourne Identity, and by itself it's great as a stand alone. I found it interesting that they built upon it and made a trilogy. I'm surprised that some movies kept making more (i.e. The Hangover and Fast and the Furious).

So what would you think could have been a great trilogy or franchise from a movie that didn't get past one movie?

I would say Zombieland, but they really screwed the pooch with that TV episode.

Dredd of course.

I think I'm the only one that wants an Inception sequel or prequel.

Others: Wreck It Ralph, Scott Pilgrim, The A-Team, etc.

SERENITY!!. Close the thread, we have a winner.

...okay, also The A-Team.

I also think both Jumper and Push had a lot of potential (and felt like they shared a universe, come to think of it). Yes, I know Hayden's acting wasn't stellar, but both stories were great starting points for series. The problem is, both movies left this open ending begging for sequels before knowing if audiences/box office would demand one.

The Crow
The Frighteners
Sunshine Cleaning (probably wouldn't watch as it would be on Lifetime)

you people are aware that the A-Team movie is actually based on an old TV series, right?

duh. But we would have liked the movie to continue as a series as well... which is the subject of this thread.

The Goonies
Dredd
Stargate - rather than having so many TV shows, would've been great to have a big screen trilogy.

Agree with Dredd. I also think these movies could have been made into interesting shows:

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
AI: Artificial Intelligence
Apocalypse Now
Avatar
The Butterfly Effect
Cast Away
The Chronicles of Narnia
movies
Conan the Barbarian, any rendition
Dances With Wolves
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series
The Godfather
series
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The Hunger Games
series
I Am Legend
Both Kill Bill movies
Knowing
The Last Samurai
Lawrence of Arabia
The Lord of the Rings
series (probably The Hobbit too)
Looper
Love Exposure
(as an anime )
OldBoy
Red Cliff
Road to Perdition
Scarface
Both Sherlock Holmes movies
Troy
Wanted
Watchmen
The X-Men movies

I think these franchises could have good continuing story type of shows attached to them:

The Die Hard series
Inception
James Bond
The Mad Max series
The Matrix series
The Men in Black series
The Mission Impossible series with Tom Cruise
The Riddick series
JJ Abrams' Star Trek movies
The Tomb Raider movies
xXx

There are probably oddles of others I could come up with.
