Nice! I would still like to get the Japanese BD at a decent price someday, but happy to see a new US release.

Mmm, it was $90 plus shipping, so still a little salty... but it turned out to be in immaculate condition - It was listed on Amazon JP as "Very Good" but both the Blu-ray and the DVD were still sealed in their plastic wraps, so it was never even watched! The only thing with some minor wear on it was the outside plastic bag, so evidently it was just a shelf-sitter...

There's a few on Amazon JP now in "Good" condition for between 3600-6000 Yen, if you don't mind a little more wear... The ones marked "Fulfilment from Amazon" will only cost 2000 yen to ship, and you'd get those in their typical 2 day ship time.

I'm still going to buy the Discotek release as well...

Oh I keep an eye on it from time to time. I'm just hesitant buying used, as I've failed, miserably, TWICE going that route.

If you really like Jin-Roh try to find the original Bandai US release. I sold my Japanese release to help fund getting the US release when the opportunity presented itself - searched for 3 years but ultimately it was a forum member here who was willing to part with their mint condition one.

It is great there will be an affordable new US release coming out though!

Was it the guy selling for it for $1600 that we killed his self promoting thread haha.

LOL, no...

I sure hope the audio on the new release is as good as the 5.1 PCM track on the Bandai release. The Jin-Roh audio track (Japanese) is SUBLIME! If the English dub is in HD that would be a nice upgrade too!

Good that the video is not window boxed... was it re-scanned?

I was going to say yay for Puchim@s until I found out it was a Subtitled DVD-only release just like Idolm@ster Xenoglossia. So have to wait for the Blu-ray.

Right Stuf's Lucky Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it has licensed the anime series Looking Up At The Half-Moon (Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora). The company plans to release the entire six-episode series in one DVD collection this spring.

Crimson Star Media previously licensed the series as a new company and planned to release the series in September 2013. The company's head Corey Maddox was sentenced to at least one year in prison last October. The company's website is no longer active.

The 2006 anime series follows Yuichi, a high school boy hospitalized while he recovers from Hepatitis A. He spends his days escaping from the hospital and giving his nurse a headache. One day, he encounters fellow patient Rika, a bookworm around his age. The two become close but Rika's condition is much more serious than Yuichi's and the couple find their time together is limited.

The anime is based on a light novel series by Tsumugu Hashimoto. It also inspired a live-action television drama and a film. Bost Digital Entertainment streamed the television anime series online in Australia and New Zealand in 2007.

There's also Azazel-san:

Quote:
Right Stuf's Lucky Penny Entertainment label revealed that the complete collection of You're Being Summoned, Azazel will be available on February 3, 2015.

About You're Being Summoned, Azazel
Have a stalker you just can’t shake? Fear your spouse is being unfaithful? You might consider hiring Akutabe, a detective who summons demons to do his dirty work. While his methods might seem unorthodox, he always gets results. However, as powerful as Akutabe is, manipulating demons is delicate art. His new part-time employee Sakuma, a young college girl, doesn’t get to spend too much time exploring the finer points of controlling demons before Akutabe forces her into a demonic contract with Azazel. Azazel is lazy, lustful and depraved... Everything you’d expect a demon to be. Sakuma needs to keep Azazel on a tight leash, but to do that, she may have to dabble in a little depravity herself.
The YOU'RE BEING SUMMONED, AZAZEL Complete TV Series DVD set will contain the entire 26-episode television series - in a single DVD keepcase, with Japanese audio, English subtitles and on-screen translations - plus on-disc extras, including the clean openings, clean closings, and promotional videos.
Source

I wish Right Stuf would start putting out blu-rays already...

As do I. I think it might cost to much for them to do that though.

Which also means that they can't get English dubs for their series anymore. The last time I heard a Rightstuf English dub was back when they released To Heart(excluding titles they rescued of course).

Which really is a shame as I'm sure they would do a decent job on dubs.
I'm sure it is cheaper to license on DVD then it ever would be for them to do it on blu ray.

Your right about it being a shame, because their missing out on a whole market of buyers. I don't watch sub unless I really have to. I don't care really about the dub being perfect I just don't wish to read when I watch a movie or series. I see a lot of good shows come out that I like. I see sub only and say "pass". I'm not totally against dvd's just yet. I just don't want to read. I read enough novels. Sure I know a bunch of you love original Japanese tracks but it's just not my favorite.

I'm not a fan of subs but I don't mind them. I would rather have dubs if possible but for the most part I can do both. I noticed that the more you watch subs you become a better speed reader and it isn't that hard to read and watch. Again though for me the dubs are better because I have a kid. So reading and checking up on him can be taxing.

Oddly enough though the sub for AKB0048 I enjoyed more so then the dub. I really wish Stella would have had a dub though.
