So I received two packages from Rightstuf today, one shipped via Fedex, and one shipped via USPS media Mail. Both packages arrived in perfectly fine condition. Both packages were picked up from Rightstuf on Tuesday and arrived on Friday, so 3 days shipping for both carriers.

It's so weird to me. There is no world where Ground is cheaper than Media Mail even if you are Amazon lol.

It's not even close even with full Fedex/UPS discount. Especially on smaller packages where media is going to be $3.65-$4.18.

Yeah not sure either why they would choose a more costly carrier. Still taking the same amount of time with Smartpost aka 2 weeks to get to me even though I live about 500 miles away from RS lol.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe they were getting in trouble because USPS is getting more strict on Media Mail. A lot of patch guys that were shipping via them were talking about the issues when they would go to mail out stuff.

I recently bought Dragon Half from RightStuf, and the disc has a noticeable crack in it. Should I be worried about it, and if so, should I try to contact RightStuf for a replacement?

Worth nothing the release is probably OOP. It came with the security sticker (those went away around, 2019?), and in an amaray (ying-yang hub company) case with thick plastic, it was not an eco-lite case. They stopped making those cases years ago (the plastic is now very flimsy on modern amaray cases just like modern VIVA cases), so if I had to take a guess, this release was last printed in 2015, maybe 2016.

I would try to get it replaced since it's a crack.

I return any disc with a ring crack. Just not worth it.

Nise should be restocked since it's been evergreen. With Owari I think there is some belief that it may just stay out of print if we are going to get the compact "Final Season" box set that released in Japan last December. I know it does say expecting more for now but we shall see. Notably, Tsukimonogatari Yotsugi Doll is listed as "No Longer Available" which is another that would be in that box set.

Like I suspected given the security sticker and the thickness of the DVD case (everyone switched to thin plastic only years ago), ugh. So, what should I do now? Really don't want to have to hunt down a full second copy when I need only a replacement disc.

Maybe they'll announce a bluray on the stream. I don't know if it's still the case, but the ADV version used to be pretty cheap on ebay.

Because I'm known for double-dipping a lot, I had intentions of already doing that (getting both the original release and EAC re-release), but I did want to view the series through the Discotek DVD. Don't know how it compares to the ADV release in terms of video quality.
