I went up to my brothers for bbq Tuesday night and he has a new roomate (big college roomate house)... anyhoo after eating the conversation drifted to HT and this guy says come check my mirage setup. So we go upstairs and he's got 2 M7si's as fronts, 2 M5si's as rears, and a BPS-400. I didn't check to see which center.

We checked out the disaster scenes on the Knowing blu and it was quite an experience to say the least. I had never seen towers like that with drivers on both sides. Those towers are heavy.

Anyway, good stuff.

I'm not sure yet. I think they will go on a stand and not on the wall.. I have limited space for the rears

I bet you mean M5si's for fronts. There the bigger speaker then the M7si's.
Before i got my paradigms i wanted M7si's for rears.

Just because of the speakers, i bet he also has a MCSI center

Thanks Ozzman,
Love the wood !!
I am shocked but I have my rear surrounds on the floor, carpet until I find some stands and they seem to have good sound ?? Maybe because of the design of the speakers pushes the sound up, but the ports are on the front, more bass??....

Finding stands are so easy.I have like 6 pairs all different sizes.
If you have a couple of pawn shops around were you live then you should check them out.

Saves alot of money and you'll be surprised what you come up with

Thumbs up Is it live, or is it a Mirage?

I have the older Omni series speakers. Check out my gallery for photos. I got the fronts, center and surrounds in 2003 and picked up the back surrounds in 2005. I had to get those in platinum since they were discontinuing that series and I wanted to keep the same series to match the voices. They are paintable, but I decided that they matched the gray kitchen counter and black appliances quite well.

I considered in-wall speakers for the surrounds, but the choices were so limited and these sounded so good in the showroom. I also have a 2-story family room, so filling it with sound is no easy task. I studied a lot of articles on speaker placement and tried them in various positions in the room. To my delight, they are so non-directional that speaker placement was not that critical. I always feel like I am immersed in sound (depending on the sound track, of course).

A word of caution, be very careful when dusting/cleaning the titanium dome tweeters. I pushed one in and had to take off the diffuser and suck it back out with my mouth (no kidding, a kiss works wonders). It worked, but it did leave a small wrinkle in the surface of the dome. It's cosmetic, though. I put my ear right up to the speaker and could not hear any distortion.

I actually got the speakers years before I got a Blu-ray player. It was like falling in love with them all over again! They are well-named. If you close your eyes, you can hear some directionality, but its a mirage! The quality, however, is no mirage. They are solid. I'm saving up for the S-10 sub to complete the set.

My sister came over and I played 3:10 to Yuma for her. After the show she said, "Wow, so that's what home theater sounds like!"

These speakers are growing on me just made some more adjustments. I just watched Knowing and when the plane crashes and another scene I forget I could feel the room shaking and the volume is only about 35 %.... I'm very pleased ..

Soon after I opened the speakers my wife started to touch the tweeter. I had to warn her she doesn't know much about sound.. LOL

I'm glad you like them, I just purchased two Omni 550's and the 150 center channel from vans. I think I got all three for under $375, I couldn't pass it up. These will be an upgrade from a hand me down Yamaha setup so I'm excited to hear them. I have a Pioneer VSX-816 to power them and plan to grab some of the omni-stats for the rears. Not sure which sub yet...
I'll throw some pics up of the setup when I get them hopefully next week.

How do like your sub so far? Curious where you got it from as well. Thanks
I was thinking about keeping with the Mirage theme and go for the S8 but would like the cherry finish to match the rest of the speakers.

I am no sound expert, I can feel it in my stomach . If you like a lot of boom you might want the 12. But this thing can shake things up. I am very happy with it... Check the subwoofer section out and then ebay.

Just received the speakers yesterday 550's and the c150 center and they are bigger than I expected. So far I'm very happy with them, I haven't really had a chance to crank them up too much. Once everything is setup I'll snap some pics.
