Incredible Hong Kong jet black noir, and probably will be release of the year for me. 88 Films are now shooting high into home video immortality with this announcement.

It's an excellent dark crime film. Not a kung fu film and more of a gritty action thriller. Good story and Patricia Ha is one of cinema's great characters. I assume they're include the alternate moralistic ending as an extra.

The fact 88 have ventured into this realm is incredibly exciting. If Miramax has indeed lost rights to their HK library, that would open the floodgates of similarly awesome flix 88 can sink their teeth into and take my money.

Wasn’t there some vital explanatory text missing from previous video releases of this? I seem to recall something to that effect. I’m sure that any such silliness will be fixed with this most anticipated release. Can’t wait!

£35 a bit pricey for this and Righting Wrongs. I don't mind dropping £35 on a 4k set like Dragon's Forever, but £25 is my limit for a blu-ray single film edition. Hopefully it will come down at some point.

You can buy this as Righting Wrongs for £24.99 on Zavvi and HMV. Amazon's price should come down soon though.

Yeah it was. I thought it was just for the Malaysian market but I just popped in the HK dvd and it ends abruptly with the text. I saw the film in a Chinatown theater when it came out and I'm pretty sure it didn't end that way and ended on a boat dock. Now I'm confused. I do have a Taiwan bootleg but I don't feel like digging that up. I believe there were some bits of violence for the end scene that is missing from one of the versions as well. Hopefully this new edition will clear it up for me.

WELL, DAMN!!! I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN EVENTUALLY!!!

On The Run is a legendary, dark and ugly crime noir about police corruption. Not a very happy story. The action was so brutal and strong, many parts were cut out for a theatrical release. Some of it is reminiscent of a John Woo, Ringo Lam and The Mak Brothers project all wrapped in one. There was an alternate ending that was never on DVD. Only VHS and LD. I hope they put their foot into this release. I'm buying this along with The Seventh Curse from the company!

The boat dock ending was only available on the HK VHS and Laserdisc AND on the French DVD. It was cut from all other releases.
