Man, if all upcoming movies are getting the "super" treatment this summer is gonna be expensive. I kinda like it but I guess vacation is cancelled!

I assume this will get a book(let) and a poster aswell

Would be cool if an English dub could be included if it exists.

Whenever I see Kung Fu Bob doing the coverart, I always have a minor panic because I misread his name as "R.I.P. Kung Fu Bob"

The secret's out. Bob is in fact a zombie. Has been ever since that unfortunate incident with a combine harvester in 1924.

But he's looking better these days...

First, thank you.

88's James came up with the text color and layout that wound up on the poster. He showed me and asked how I felt about it. I said I liked it, but preferred the pink neon for the actual Blu-ray cover (though I always express that I'm cool with the company doing whatever they feel works best). I appreciated that he indulged me, but I also really dig the red text (and other info and placement) that he used for the poster. He's got a great eye and has improved on my title treatments on a number of occasions, often greatly improving them. These are great people to work for/with.

I'm so happy that ON THE RUN is finally going to reach a bigger audience because I think it's been an elusive title (especially uncut) for the less persistent collectors, and it deserves to be seen.

I am all for the neon pink. Frankly, I am all for neon anything. I am a sucker for the retrowave/vaporwave/synthwave style colors and artwork, and I love the design for the box and the poster. This is a total blind buy for me and, as with a few other releases in the past, your artwork made it much easier to place the order.

Very much looking forward to watching this.

Neon pink FTW! Excellent artwork sir. Man I can’t wait until I have this in my grubby little mitts…

Speaking of title treatments, I have a question — the title font for your lovely HEART OF DRAGON cover artwork must have been changed at the last minute, as I vastly prefer the title font that was used on the artwork for the initial release announcement to what ended up on the final release. My only (extremely minor!) quibble with that excellent Blu. Was that 88’s call?

Would've been nice to have the cards for the original movie posters, especially the movie poster with the sunset over the ocean.

Does anybody else think that most of the original artwork of the great movies made during the golden age of Hong Kong films (1982-1992) stinks, but who cares the movies are great. That's why I am always happy to see new artwork for these films.

Thank you. I'm glad that my artwork can entice you to buy stuff that is actually awesome.

I hope you enjoy ON THE RUN.

Hahaha... thanks.

Interesting, I didn't remember 88 ever even showing the HEART OF DRAGON art with my original title treatment. Yes, mine was originally gold and they changed it to blue. I believe the thinking was that it was a somewhat busy design, so a simpler font would be better, and it already had a lot of yellow, so a switch to a nice, clear, blue font would work better. This is one of those changes that I think was an improvement over what I'd come up with. But nice to hear that you liked it.

Hmmm, I think they ran the gamut from fantastic to terrible. For example, the HK poster art for KILLER METEORS is hella cool (a very hard act to follow ), but I detest the original THE 8 DIAGRAM POLE FIGHTER one. I understand that since Alexander Fu Sheng had passed away they wanted to honor him and make him very prominent on the poster. But the photo they used of him smiling couldn't have been less appropriate for the film, and it's cropped in way too close. Just terrible.

I'd post pics of those and some examples of great Hong Kong posters if it wasn't so difficult to do so on this forum. Someone explained to me how to do it a long time ago, but I can't remember and have no desire to get involved in a skirmish with technology right now.

Actually, yeah. I particularly dislike floating heads and close-ups of faces. I understand it allows a studio to show off whatever big names are in the lead but it just doesn't work for me.

Absolutely, man. The one I am still on the fence about, despite the fantastic artwork, is Human Lanterns. It would be a blind buy again but, while I love my horror, I don't particularly care for Wuxia. I haven't yet convinced myself to give it a shot but I am pretty sure I'll end up giving in.

Out of everything I own that comes with your artwork I believe Robotrix is my favorite. Riki Oh and Erotic Ghost Story are high up that list, also. I just love your use of shading and color.

The pink is cool, the red just reminds me of the blood red Kung Fu credits.
Your artwork has never disappointed and all my sleeves show off the KFB artwork behind the awesome slip covers, which are all kept in plastic steelbook protectors to stay mint.
Your skill at nostalgic freshness is a joy to see upon each release and now when I talk about a movie, your artwork is the new mental image I have in my mind, so thanks for that.
