United Kingdom Miami Vice Complete Series

Is this better than the American?
25 discs. US has 20 discs. Any audio problems?

The US-set is better because the picture of the UK set is too dark.

The bad news about this release: The US edition is dirt-cheap and only available to Prime members (which is strange, as i'm a Prime member in the UK!), the US version is region-locked to region A, and the cheapest edition of the UK edition is still £80 from Fabulous Films as an Amazon seller. Have i missed anything?

Prime membership doesn't carry across from region to region.

Wow HD have the complete US set for virtually half what the Fabulous set is going for. You get the original 2.0 audio as well as 5.1 on the Mill Creek and it doesn't have the incorrect video levels which seems to plague most of Fabulous' recent TV sets. Wow are apparently also shipping the corrected US version at this point in time, which fixed some issues with botched 5.1 mixes on certain episodes.

If you're region free then the US set is a no-brainer at £42 with no customs interference:

I think i have to order the US version then. Have to pay taxes and customs from it but it is still cheaper. The only reason to get UK version would be if it were superior to US.
I have region free OPPO-83SE so i don't have care about region coding.

Can't believe the price that they are asking for the Fabulous Films offering.
I imported the US set (live in Australia), as I have a US BD player, using a step-down voltage converter.

Only problem is, I can't get the replacement discs Mill Creek are offering for the audio stuff up (only available to North American residents), so I am stuck with having to listen to DD 2.0 on 4 episodes (2 eps have bad reverb and 2 eps they forget to put 5.1 lossless on).

My advice to Region B consumers, get a Region A player and grab the US set, but wait a bit to ensure you get the corrected discs.

If you buy the US set now would you get the correct discs?

RegionA - stuff mucking around with stepdown. Get a PS3 or PS4 from region A. Or a multi region player.

Somebody in one of the threads here said they recently got a corrected set from WoWHD. I guess they keep a much lower inventory than Amazon so less likely to have loads of the original faulty boxsets still in their warehouse.

Where are you based? If you ordered from wow to the UK then it takes between 7-10 days, if you're in mainland Europe then it could be up to a month.

Hopefully restocking with the new disks version.

Note this only corrects the audio problem (as with Mill Creek) does not correct the too dark picture as they encoded the black level incorrectly. That would have meant replacing every disk.

Also someone on another forum said the new disks which include the episode with cockfight now have that scene cut as per the BBFC enforced edit. Previously Fabulous Films had just used the illegal for UK uncut version they received from US.

If it helps, I ordered the US set about a month back from amazon.com and it had the corrected discs (as shown by the serial number on the relevant seasons).

Still region A locked though.
