UK and still waiting.

However, I mailed Monday lunchtime and received a reply a few hours later. Basically, I provided details again and then asked if they had my details (or I'd been missed off any master list they had - as others are getting their discs now).

Full reply was as follows:

Quote:
You are on our list.
You discs will be despatched soon.
Our teams have been working their way through all customers.

Regards
BBC DVD Support
At least they replied (and very quickly), so kudos for that (I didn't expect a reply at all).

I was literally half way through writing a post wondering what methodology they were using when it came to sending replacement discs out when I heard something land on my doormat downstairs.

Amongst my mail was a familiar looking brown card envelope with yellow label. A little too thin to be anything from Network so crossed my fingers and..... voila! Two actual replacement discs via Sony DADC... and not scratched or marked in any way!!*

I've not got the originals to hand to compare with but I thought the following might be useful info for others as I think there was a first replacement batch that a select few had that was found to still have faults and I'm assuming this is the second batch.

Disc 3 - The Sontaran Experiment - Folders in the root timestamped as 24/07/18 14:53
Disc 5 - Revenge of the Cybermen - Folders in the root timestamped as 25/07/18 14:04

Hopefully my good fortune means that others will also start getting their discs soon. I'm sure the last sighting of any discs was about two weeks ago so whatever the hold up has been in the meantime has hopefully been sorted.

*Incidentally, the discs were just loosely wrapped in a bit of AirPlus plastic wrap stuff with the label sides facing each other. Not ideal maybe but they weren't rattling around in the envelope so no complaints from me.

Update: Here are the inner/outer ring serials from the discs. I'm fairly sure I've read them right but thought they might be handy for those of you who wanted to compare what discs you'd got and don't have a Blu-Ray drive on your computer to check the dates...

Disc 3 - The Sontaran Experiment

Disc 5 - Revenge of the Cybermen

I sent my replacement request email right at the start to DVDSupport@bbc.com.

Is that still the correct e-mail address for the UK or has it changed.

That's still the correct email. Looks like they're sending them out in waves. Just a thought, but I wonder if they're doing them alphabetically by Surname? As I didn't send my request off until August 30th and received mine within 4 weeks. My surname begins with B.

Sent mine on the 3rd July but still waiting, might just send it again to be sure.

Got my two replacement discs.

No more issues with this set for me. Don’t mind the (still) missing CGI shot from Revenge. I always watch the serials with the original SFX.

For those who have received replacement discs, I have a question: As I don't have a receipt (ordered online from HMV, so unless there's a way to get a digital receipt...), it advises to send a picture of the product with my name and address in full view. Could I ask what is maybe the best/most secure way to do so? Like, showing off my ID or just writing it down somewhere etc.? Many thanks!

I sent my replacement request on July 4th. Never heard anything but since no one else had either, I figured why worry.

Now that everyone has started receiving discs and I hadn't seen anything yet, I decided to re-send my request. This time, I got a response - "We will log you for a UK replacement".

You could just forward the dispatch notice from HMV with your name and address in your request for a replacement email. Does your set still have the little HMV order sticker on it? You could take a picture of that (it should have your name on it) and add your name/address to the email.

I wouldn't send a picture of your ID.

Pretty sure I just forwarded my HMV dispatch email to them. No further questions asked and I've received my replacement discs.

You could log into HMV, go to the order page and take a screenshot and attach it to your email

No it doesn't have any stickers on anymore, but I should still have the email. Thank you!

I'm not sure how it works with HMV, I got mine from Amazon. I just took a screenshot of the dispatch note on the website, and took a photo of the physical box to prove I'd received it, and emailed both to them.

Finally received my replacement discs for the UK edition (I live in NJ in USA)!

Came in a heavily-taped cardboard mailer from Sony Enfield, shipped via Fedex and required a signature. The discs were bubble wrapped with the information side against one another. They were kinda stuck together and it took some effort to pull apart but no visible scratches.

I have yet to receive my discs here, but looking at some of these posts, I guess I should give it a few more days until I reach out to the BBC about it.

Could you confirm which of the inner ring codes are the fixed discs.
