Apart from the fact many films have been lost completely. Looking at what went into restoring Vertigo it's amazing and the result,.. could have been better. I don't think it's a strech to think that Laserdisc masters of some films is the best source that's left. Many films were melted down for the metals to be re-used. I wish many older movies had been preserved better. -Brian |
