A quick reminder that Michael Cimino's restored Heaven's Gate is screened on October 21 in Lyon at Lumiere 2012. If you are visiting the area, please see the film theatrically

Carlotta Films are also represented (Umberto D, Runaway Train, etc).

Received King of New York today. Very good picture and audio quality. And I can confirm it's English-friendly.

Anyone grab 'Blow Out' or 'Dressed To Kill' yet.

Would love to hear some thoughts on these two.

I viewed Dressed to Kill this morning. Overall, it is definitely a better package when compared to the U.S. release.

The transfer is apparently different, but it must have been sourced from the same MGM master that was used for the U.S. release. The extras are fantastic. The video interviews are very, very informative. Really liked the one with Angie Dickinson. The release comes in a black case.

Here's our review:

Dressed to Kill Blu-ray Review

I will watch Blow Out in the morning and do my best to have our review up later in the night.

Pro-B, You really need to review the 2-Disc Metropolitan release of Silent Hill so that more people are aware of it and I would love to read your review.

It's been out for 3 years now, it's the only director approved transfer and it comes with abundance of special features most of which are exclusive to that release, 4 different cover art options and a slipcase. The US release looks horrendous and doesn't come with ANY special features. If all of that isn't good enough reason to convince you that it's a release worth reviewing, I don't know what is! haha

OK. No problem. I have taken a note and will do my best to include it with the next batch of French titles

Thank you for suggesting the film/release.

French label Carlotta Films has revealed that it is planning to bring to Blu-ray two classic American films directed by Richard Fleischer: Violent Saturday (1955), starring Victor Mature, Richard Egan and Stephen McNally, and The Boston Strangler (1968), starring Tony Curtis, Henry Fonda and George Kennedy.

Violent Saturday

Three men decide to rob a bank in a small town. But things go terribly wrong and they trigger a series of crises. Street date: April 3rd.

The Boston Strangler

One by one, the victims fell, each death more gruesome than the last. The actual murders that rocked Boston in the '60s are the gripping subject matter of this unforgettable police thriller. Henry Fonda stars as the investigating police detective. Tony Curtis delivers a stunning performance as the psychopath Fonda must conquer. Filmed in a documentary style that makes the horrifying events all the more real, The Boston Strangler is one of the most powerful films in its genre. Street date: April 17th.

March 6th was the official date provided to us by Carlotta Films.

The current listing at Amazon probably reflects some supply issue or a temporary delay.
