Default Transformers UHDs...MIA

I thought for sure with the new Last Knight movie launching in June...we would see the first movies in the series for release on UHD tied into the new theatrical release. We're about 60 days from that, which is a pretty standard lead time...and nothing.

Maybe they will launch in the Fall when Last Knight is released. Who knows...

Totally agreed, I've noticed Paramount seems to not be fully supporting the format. I thought maybe they were waiting for Dolby Vision as well, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Very strange.

I wouldn't expect much from Paramount; they're easily the most incompetent major studio when it comes to dealing with catalog titles. There are still lots they haven't even managed to get out on Blu-Ray.

Paramount hasn't announced support UHD BD. Yet.

Which I don't mind at this moment. I hope enough time can be delayed so that we can get the Transformers film on UHD BDs with Dolby Vision.

Without Dolby Vision, I don't think will bother collecting any of them and just stick with my current 1080p BDs and 3D.

Paramount have released several titles on UHD, including Star Trek, STID, Ninja Turtles 2, Allied, Jack Reacher 2 and any other ones I may have forgotten. Or do you mean they haven't announced support for the TF movies? That much we already know.

Their first titles were catalog titles (Star Trek 2009 series) to promote Star Trek Beyond, which makes this even more confusing.

I'm sorry. You're right.
I got my information mixed up.
I mistaken it for the three studios that supported Dolby Vision (Universal, Warner and Lionsgate).

That and it's 3am where I am. So my head's not in the right direction [emoji14]

But I'd still want these in Dolby Vision if possible.

Might be Bay more than Paramount, he may be too busy getting the new one ready to approve the HDR grades for the older ones. I'm just gonna hope that the first four will drop when the fifth one does on BD/UHD. I'd happily buy a box set.

Oh yeah, I'd be there day 1 for a 5-movie UHD boxset. I wonder if they'll include the switching ratio versions of Revenge and Extinction though? The former was a Walmart exclusive Blu-ray and the latter is only on the 3D BD. It would suck so much donkey ass if we got stiffed on more VAR shenanigans after what happened with Catching Fire.

Ah yeah, forgot about the VAR. That might give me some pause, at least on those two.

I was thinking about this after watching the 4K trailer, that was awesome btw. I'd like the first Transformers movie on 4K.

I was planning to get at least the first movie next allowance day, so surely they'll announce it for UHD right after that.

Hopefully, properly restored too.
I remember back then, a lot of people mentioned that, during the scene when The Fallen lifted all the military tanks when he's standing at the top of the pyramid was an IMAX ratio in IMAX theaters, but it's scope ratio on Blu-ray.

I never got to watch in IMAX, so I wouldn't know.
