We've already had something like Texas Chainsaw be released on UHD in a few countries and that dam has held fast. If I had a hundred grand sitting here then I'd offer to remaster Guest House Paradiso and release it on UHD myself, doesn't mean it'll make any money or convince Arrow or anyone else to join in.
Iím not saying youíre wrong. Iím just saying, must you always be Constable Odo? 🤣

As long as I get to shack up with Kira, then: yes.

Look, this particular UHD subject is something that I'm so down on all the time because I WANT it to happen, I want to please the indies and have them ejaculate their UHD goodness all over my face, but the signs really aren't great and that brings me down, daddy-o.

As for this Boggy Creek thing? Maybe if I were a fan of the film (or had even heard of it before like two hours ago) then I'd be as excited as some of y'all just for the movie itself, but I'm not so I don't even have that to cling to. If you don't do so already, it's best to treat my comments up in here like the crank who's jealous that he can't join in the fun.

Perhaps it didn't have much of an international reach, but Boggy Creek is hardly obscure on these shores. It was a substantial hit back in the day, especially for such a fiercely independent release. (Adjusted for inflation, its box office tally would be north of $115 million.)

Which is fair enough. Again, see the post above yours for how to best treat my comments in this thread. I'll leave it there and let you guys have your fun.

Pamula Pierce when asked on Facebook about what happened to the pre-orders that were supposed to go up a week or two ago:
Quote:
I jumped the gun a little...only want to pre-authorize a sale, and only charge the card when the actual unit ships, and don't have that capability yet. I wanted it to take to the company I'd like to distribute through, to gauge interest, but am so close to the June 14th premiere in Texarkana, have decided to concentrate on that, and will work on the UHD/Bluray release after the premiere. Thanks for your patience...I'm doing this a little unorthodox...and identified a large retailer I'd like to give a 6-month exclusive to, and distribute through their many locations, instead of finding a traditional distributor, as such. This big box retailer has many connections to TLOBC, and long carried the bootleg until I had them all removed...I've retainer one of their former top insiders to make all the introductions, and facilitate an order. It just takes time and money, and right now, it's still mostly me working on the project...but, it'll get there, I promise! :-)

Default Blu-Ray/DVD

It's unlikely that there will be a UHD release of The Legend of Boggy Creek at the moment. There will be a DVD/Blu-Ray combo retailer exclusive release, tentatively slated for September/October.

Well, my friend was correct in what he told you...being that he works for me and I answer to Pam.

But to reiterate, it is unlikely at the present time that there will be a 4K UHD release. We were initially hopeful that one could be created but the quality of the current viewable asset, as used at the recent Perot Screening (and which you will see from other postings was only sufficient to warrant a blu-ray transfer), would not support a 4K UHD release at this point.

Work at Eastman on multiple fronts is still ongoing. Certain assets provided to us have not yet been fully investigated including one which I believe was mentioned to a member here privately, is one that I personally want to examine as I feel sure this may be the one that bears the best fruit so that's not to say there won't be one, just not right now.

This decision would have been easier to make had it just been the case of the DVD or Blu-ray release but it was agreed that, given the nature of the medium, we didn't want to put a product in the marketplace that was not all it should be. It's been a long, daily process to get to where we are now with The Legend of Boggy Creek and we want to make every effort to see that fans at a level get the best possible presentation.

Updates on the theatrical and home video release will be made on the thread on the main forum here.

That’s a bummer. A 4K would have been a day one purchase for me.

Pam made the initial announcement of it's potential availability based on what she'd been told but not by what we eventually saw. Like I say, it has not been completely discounted. There are still things to be looked at. The mystery additional print for example could be a winner, not only in terms of quality but completeness.

We'll get there in the end though!

Hell, as long as we can get a Blu-ray release for this classic horror film, I'll be over the moon.

Me too. But I see this as a labor-of-love, and am still very happy the film will at least be presented in the very best form currently possible.
