I am seriously considering it. That is a very nice size for the room I'm thinking of putting it in. Would fill it up nicely.
![]() Was planning on getting a new set during the January sales, but that price is what has me almost ready to bite. Would be a very nice way to watch some of the Bowl games, plus I could also give one of the 3D Blu-ray players a work out. |

Wow...
I would absolutely LOVE an 82 inch screen... Holy Camolie... I think I saw that too on QVC...or was it HSN? One of them was running it -- I didn't think it was THAT big though... |

![]() I've pretty much made my mind up, just waiting for a good price. They sold out of the 82's pretty quick. ![]() |

I just bought the 65738 off shopnbc.com a couple of weeks ago for $1499 with 2 pair of the Xpand 3D glasses. Pretty good deal if you ask me, 3D being the icing on the cake.

![]() What about film...how did it look on that screen? Did you view any films? I think I recall they had all those sizes on the home shopping channel -- I didn't remember they went up to 82...but I remember them carrying three giant sizes like that... Good luck with it if you get it; I don't think anyone else makes a television that large for public purchase, do they? I.e. LCD, plasma... Mitsu is the only one making such a large set, yes? |

I bet you could do the same, order and when it arrives, plug it in for a week or two and if it is not what you expected, return it. It will cost the mailing back but that is cheap insurance. |

I never used them before and thought it wasn't going to happen, the payments would be auto taken out and the amount I wasn't going to miss. Honestly, I could not believe it until one payment pass halfway. I really did enjoy that TV, until it was stolen. I was depressed. Part of my personal mental thought to feel better was to buy bigger and better. I had looked into, talked about it on this forum, and was going to get the Mits 82". I was trying to decide between the Mits 82", Epson 8500 PJ or the Plasma I have now |

As I've been told by experts, unless you have a colorimeter, a computer, a calibration program and know how to use them properly so that you will get a CORRECT greyscale, get the display professionally calibrated. If greyscale is wrong, all your colors will be off and the black and white won't display properly. None of the calibration discs will allow you to make this correction as far as I know. I have had both my previous RPTV (that I've sold to my siblings) ISF calibrated and they are both still working and look great, even the 11-year old display. With a DLP, I'd spend the extra bucks to get the display looking perfect, especially for whatever lighting conditions you have.
