Default Collecting Manga

I've been reading and collecting manga for a number of years now, during that time I've amassed a decent collection of 560 volumes.
Still got about 100 to read and running out of space to store them, I just can't find the space for another bookshelf.
Anyone else have a manga collection?

I've got one, but it hasn't grown much in years. Most of it was built when I was still getting $20 a month for my allowance. It's been growing very slowly since late 2011. I've been focusing more on grabbing anime releases that aren't going to last instead (I buy in order of availability, i.e. what I feel will sell out/get hit by scalpers first).

I need to update my list, it's missing quite a bit.

I own five books, that's it. Volume three of Death Note, a three-in-one volume of Bleach, and the first three volumes of Fairy Tail.

Around 2 years ago I sold and gave away a good chunk of what I had, and I've barely bought any manga since then; I wouldn't doubt if I had around 1000 volumes of manga and light novels, and I probably still have around half that left.

Space is definitely an issue with manga, and I pretty much just stick them wherever I can find room for them; I have about 2/3 of a decent sized dresser filled with manga, 1/4 of another dresser filled, some in a drawer of a stand, several boxes in a closet, a box or two under a bed, a small rotating shelf filled, and some of my larger sized ones goes on a shelf with my American graphic novels.

I have a good sized one. A lot of it has gotten stored away. it's easy to let it slip and go crazy. The house I am in now cam ewith these shelves built into oone wall that i used for a while. i filled those up and got overwhelmed. i packed a lot away cutting it down to just half, then down to two, and now just on one shelf. I stopped collecting for a bit, started up again during that time. At one point I thought "I'll just get the first volume physical, and then continue on digital". But all it takes is that one loved series to come out, and you want them all.

Manga takes up a lot of space for the entertainment value really. Think how thick a tankobon is and how long it takes you to read it. I only have a few series, but I don't think I'll be buying books any more unless I have a good reason. It would have to be a single-volume release or a short (less than six volumes total) series. Especially if it's standard paper/size. The larger size and higher contrast of digital reading is what drives that decision. Not having large amounts of space taken up for the books is a big bonus.

The only manga series I still own are Fullmetal Alchemist, Ramna 1/2 & Rouroni Kenshin. Those are my personal favorites so when I sold off everything else I kept those.

I've switched to buying Kindle or Nook books since 2012/13. I just don't have the space for physical manga anymore. I've got manga in bookshelves, closets, under the bed, under the couch. Only areas without manga are the bathrooms and kitchen.

I'm in the process of selling off a lot of my manga. Over the years, my attachement to them has dropped significantly and I have no hesitation in selling even my favorite series. The space they take up cannot be justified, and knowing the digital versions will never grow mildew on its pages makes me wish I stopped collecting a lot sooner. I don't have a ton -- maybe 200-250 volumes total -- but I only intend to keep the Japanese volumes I have of Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Kenshin when it's all said and done.

I do wish we had manga cafes like Japan. While I know going to a bookstore and being a leech is equivalent (and free), being able to relax in a comfortable setting for hours and reading a ton of manga sounds like a fine way to spend a day off to destress.

Ive got about 700 volumes of manga. Half of it is still packed up. Other half is in shelves or stacked on the floor. Space is a big issue right now. I have way to much. Ive started reading it again, mainly at lunchtime or my mini breaks. Finished two series I had on hold for a while. Many more to still catch up on

I might be interested in buying some of your manga if you're looking to downsize.

I'm fine with my favorite early Urusei Yatsura chapters. It's fortunate for me how the unfinished translation turned out. On the fence about completing Ranma 1/2 and maybe Maison Ikkoku someday.

Except for Lova Hina, I've ditched almost everything from other authors.

When my daughter got married and moved out, she left her collections with me (for now...)
The one I see forefront on her bookcase is the complete set of "Dragon Knights".
I haven't got into it myself but after a quick flip through (before posting this) it looks quite enticing actually.
I know there's some others in the collection but for now, thought I'd mention this.

I got a small collection (at least I think it's small, especially compared to 500+ volumes, holy crap).

Highlights for me are 37 (I think?) volumes of Berserk, the complete Death Note, a bunch of Full Metal Alchemist (would like to trade those in for the complete box set though), all six volumes of Akira, the complete Nausicaa, complete Clover, and a few stragglers--Gantz, Black Lagoon, Hellsing, Galaxy Express 999, Ghost in the Shell, and I forget what else. So, a couple hundred volumes maybe?

I recently began getting back into reading manga. I started with the newer release for Rurouni Kenshin 3-in-1 back in September. Initially I was only reading the Jinchu arc because it was never animated. Decided to buy all of the volumes and read it from the beginning instead. Next I'm thinking of buying the volumes for Bleach Thousand Year Blood War because I've been feeling an itch to see how the series ends. Yu Yu Hakusho is high up there on my list too, maybe after I finish Kenshin around Christmas.
