https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/11...nds-on-preview What are your thoughts? Most of the criticism seems to be about the selection of games. It's missing too many classic titles, like Tomb Raider, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 2, etc. Are you going to buy PlayStation Classic? |

I definitely wanted more classic games included.
I will still buy it but not on release day. I'm already buying a Nintendo Switch for Super Smash Bros so I'll get the PS Classic a little later. I'm a big Play Station fan. I still have a ps2 slim, a PS3 and a PS4. |

20 games is pretty bare for the huge PS1 library. With backwards emulation on the PS2 and earlier PS3 models and digital purchases/emulators allowing you to play PS1 games I don't see the point of getting it. Maybe if it had 30-50 games on it.

And it uses the PAL versions of Tekken 3 and Resident Evil.
F**king idiots. And it still displays at 60hz, which is bad. If you want a better explanation, here's what John Linneman (from Digital Foundry) had to say: Quote:

It's even worse than what everyone originally thought. Sony put 50Hz PAL versions of some games on the device rather than the 60Hz US release. 2 of which are fighting games where the lower framerate was immediately noticeable to people that have gotten there hands on the system.
Personally, I canceled my pre-order as I felt $100 was too much when Nintendo was only charging $59/$79 for their systems. Now that all of the information about these is known, there is no way I would ever consider buying one of these unless it was in some bargain bin and I had a few bucks to waste. Here's the list of PAL games on the US version:

I hope it sells enough units for Sony to release a PlayStation 2 Classic. Even though the reviews of it are mediocre I still want to get it, it will look good next to my NES and Super NES Classic Edition units.

I wish the reviews (and perhaps the sales for this thing) would send SONY a message (it won't). It'd be nice if they took a look at how well the classics titles are working on the XBOX One - I was very late to hop on the XBOX bandwagon this generation, but I am totally impressed by how the backwards compatibility of both 360 and original Xbox titles play on the console, sometimes even surpassing how they originally played. Meanwhile, SONY releases this monstrosity as a way to celebrate the console's history - it feels like a slap in the face to those of us that owned (and still own) an original Playstation.

The PlayStation Classic feels a a lot like when the PlayStation Move originally came out. Sony is being reactive to Nintendo's success instead of being proactive. And the Classic was just lazily thrown together.

None yet, going to fire it up tomorrow after I get back from working out and the gym. The lack of an AC block is annoying but at least I have an extra block, hope it works with this system. FF VII is the main reason I got it, we'll see if I really spend much time playing anything else. Decided to try it out tonight, using the HDMi slot my PS3 usually uses so it's not mixed up over there with my NES/SNES classics. I now have 5 devices that use HDMi cables so I definitely need to look into a splitter. Looks good so far, definitely need to venture into other games at some point.
